Ditto.

Wish I could SBR my PS90... this would result in pure righteousness.  O0

If I had my way, I'd SBR it and put on a can.

Good point.

Did you read about suppressors (including those CMMG fake cans) negatively affecting the free float barrels on PS90s?

True?

I haven't read that. I know the P90 is run with a can with great results.

How does it affect the barrels? Accuracy?

Found it!!

I guess this means I can resume hanging out with Marion Barry!!   O0

Please note that the post, below, is from 2007, and I cannot confirm or deny the veracity of the information contained, therein.

Precicely!

One thing to note here. The reason PS90 does not fire out of battery or explode is the fact that the barrel moves rearward with the bolt(breech block) call it what you will.

This sequence is timed precisely. There is no locking mechanism like the rollers on the MP5 or the cams on the M16 bolt, hence something has to hold the barrel and the bolt long enough for the gas pressure to reach safe levels.

This is accomplished by the rearward movement of the barrel inside the receiver. If you push on the barrel, you will notice that it moves into the receiver. There is a spring behind the barrel sleve that pushes it back.

If you mount anything on the barrel that restricts this movement, you will

1. Aid in the abrasion of the inside of the receiver which will diminsh accuracy and inevitably make the gun unsafe to shoot.

2. Possibly prevent the barrel from recoiling inside the receiver thus causing a lot of pressure to vent into the breech, fouling the gun and causing a pressure buildup that may crack the receiver at the chamber end.

Therefore, I would not mount any gismos on the barrel, sans a real can - and that should be used sparingly. Can will not crack the reciever, but it will definitely put downward pressure on the barrel which will cause it not to float inside the receiver and gouge the nice round holes in the receiver into ovals over a period of time.

Cheers,

-TH

Excellent point except...

If you buy a PS90 with a 16" barrel and cut it down to 10", thread and attach a can, your overall weight would be approximately the same.

I'm sure if you just attached a can over and above, the weight difference would affect performance?

Notice they don't say anything about the P90...
The P90 is used successfully, with its 10" barrel and a can.
Further research, on my part is warranted...

I'm with you bro.
Every time I fly to the mainland, every suitcase comes back with ammo.

I've never had a problem finding 57x28 ammo. If you're willing to pay for it, it's out there.

I bought a bunch of it at $18.99 a box from Cabelas a few years ago and have yet to shoot through all of that.
