Post by: BLKDRGN on September 16, 2013, 08:47:05 AM
They say at least one of the gunman used an AR-15.

You know they are.

What a coincidence that it just happen to happen in the nations capitol......on a military base........using the very type of rifle they're trying to ban.  They're probably going to milk this tragedy for all they can.

If you saw the president talking earlier about the incident you may have noticed it sounded like he is going to try to use this to once again push gun control. Of course, I do not think its going to have the steam behind it that sandy hook did but I doubt that will stop the push.

The dead gunman in Monday’s shooting at the Washington Navy Yard is Aaron Alexis, 34, a Navy veteran and native of Brooklyn, an FBI official said Monday afternoon.

Well I'M just relieved D.C. fixed it so no one had a carry permit in that building - just imagine the 'OK Corral' type scenario and innocent bystander bloodshed that would have resulted! (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/17/e8eva3a5.jpg)

Yeah, especially given that cops in LA and NYC seem to always hit bystanders or open fire on the wrong people... But I don't hear the liberal left calling for them to turn in their guns!

It's now being reported that the shooter is a Buddhist. Or at least was a practicing Buddhist in the past. Something tells me this will either be attributed to mental illness or a recent conversion to the 'religion of peace' a.k.a. Islam.

The gunman used an AR-pattern rifle, but he acquired it during the shooting.  NBC Washington originally reported that he got it from a police officer he ambushed, but later revised that to say he got it from a gun safe.  I think the first report was probably true; unless the folks at the Navy Yard's armory are in the habit of leaving gun safes open.  At any rate, he didn't have the rifle until after the start, it seems the surveillance footage shows him with a shotgun and pistol initially.

i wonder if he even used an AR-15, or if they're just using this situation to demonize "assault weapons" like they did with sandy hook.

I watched NBC nightly news, I think they have a fair unbiased representation of the days news and Brian Williams is very calming to listen to.. much like Morgan Freeman.... anyway... I also watched it unfolding throughout the day on Fox. After nightly news ended I was flipping down the channels and saw that stupid twat pierce morgan was on... Figured he would be spouting off about guns.. sure enough he was. Watched that for a little bit.

Really pisses me off how he still has a tv program, The guy just endlessly rants and raves like a little child. Saying the shooter had an AR15 he legally purchased. (really? None of the other news reported that information. In-fact what they said was the guy shot other personnel and stole their weapon) Fact of the matter is we really do not know what happened yet it is purely speculation.

These damn mass shootings do seem to be happening quite often these days. Probably because people continuously see it on the news and the attention it gets and think it is a great idea. They are still talking about that whack job in Aurora, CO. What really irks me though is people like pierce morgan get on tv and get to relentlessly spew utter bullshit and totally ignore the facts. What a disservice to the people of this country and the world.

I think that every single person with half a brain should go on his show and just sit there in silence the whole time and make a total mockery of it.

I say after the 'new revolution', we round up all these tards and bring back gladiator fighting.

I vote for piers to fight 3 hives of army ants with his bare hands.

I think I'd rather create an "Escape from New York" type prison area full of all the Liberal idiots and gun control nuts.  Then drop Piers in the middle along with a couple dozen gang members and a couple dozen more violent criminals.

I'd want video wherever he goes, so we can see how easily Piers talks his way out of trouble.  Talking is ALWAYS better than physical confrontation, as he likes to say!

Too bad we just couldn't divide the who state into gun and non-gun areas... Things will be clear once everyone sees where the criminals migrate to! Wait, we already have those zones, yet nobody seems to notice the trend...

I wonder too... Just read this:

"federal law enforcement sources told CNN Tuesday that authorities have recovered three weapons from the scene of the mass shooting, including one -- a shotgun -- that investigators believe Alexis brought in to the compound. The other two weapons, which sources say were handguns, may have been taken from guards at the Navy complex."

"The sources, who have detailed knowledge of the investigation, cautioned that initial information that an AR-15 was used in the shootings may have been incorrect. It is believed that Alexis had rented an AR-15, but returned it before Monday morning's shootings."

Oooooh the dreaded AR-15 shotgun, Biden must want one of those!

These pathetic hacks need to be arrested for libel and inciting civil unrest.  There is no other reason for outright false reporting other than to inflame.

Of course, Obunga is seen nodding approvingly of the tactics as he plots with Fineswine to re-introduce more gun control bills.

I also watched CNN later lastnight when they were interviewing a doctor where the three people were taken. The large bold letter caption below her video feed was " DOCTOR AGAINST GUNS" and when Piers was questioning her, At least while I was watching she did not once say anything anti gun. When he asked her about guns and the dreaded ar15 and mass shootings and how could we fix it, she said nothing about guns but about mental health.  ::)

Quote from: AP article on yahoo
The FBI also said Tuesday Alexis had a shotgun when he entered the building and got a handgun inside after he started firing. Valerie Parlave, head of the FBI's field office in Washington, said they don't have any information that he had an AR-15 assault rifle in his possession.

The media is in such a rush to be first to report.  No need to fact check the report.  Just say or print something first.

Sen. Brian Schatz today renewed his support for expanded criminal and mental health background checks...
Title: Re: Mass Shooting at Navy Yard
Post by: fang23 on September 17, 2013, 01:00:09 PM
"We have to do whatever we can to prevent this type of tragedy from occurring again," Schatz said in a written news release." I call on my colleagues to pass bipartisan gun safety reform. When the Senate debated this issue in April, we saw widespread consensus from the public on commonsense reforms, such as expanding criminal and mental health background checks."

The story adds:
However, authorities have said that accused gunman Aaron Alexis had no felony record or court ruling of mental illness that would have prevented him from buying guns.

I just sent his dumb ass a letter:

Dear Senator Schatz,

I don't want one of your cookie cutter, mass letters; If you aide needs to deliver this to you personally, then so be it. But I am tired of my legislative representatives having their aides send out pre-typed letters to their citizens, as it shows you have no concern about your citizens or the interests of your state.

You spoke recently of expanding background checks. I'm sorry sir, but in case you didn't know, they already do background checks. Of course, if you were a citizen actively practicing in your constitutional right to bear arms, you would already know this. It would seem that rather than listen to what your people want with regards to this issue that you are more concerned about the interests of your political party and their agendas with regards to firearm regulation. This is a direct violation of your oath to UPHOLD the constitution, as you and your colleagues wish to change its meaning.

If you wholeheartedly support gun law reform, I would like to know if you would be willing to resign from your post of office for violating your oath of office, or if you would be willing to support the fight to establish term limits for all state and federal legislators. If gun control is such a moral issue to you and your party members, I would also like to hold you and your colleagues accountable for your moral violations as well, and would like to see just how much you believe in doing 'what is right'.

Remember, I expect a legitimate response from you. In case you have forgotten, you serve us; we do not serve you.

"Dear Q,
I read your letter and you're tight you make a lot of obvious points. I did also read your post on 2ahawaii.com : ( Please don't call me a dumbass, it hurt my feelings. I'm only supporting this gun control stuff because how else am I supposed to hustle enough money from the left to beat colleen next year? Give me a break.
 - Brian"

Yes, they now say he had shotgun and pistols but no AR-15.  Also, the police in Rhode Island reported him to the Navy Shipyard after an incident where he was hearing voices in his head yet the Navy never did anything.  Sounds like Aurora a little where they knew he had made threatening statements and did nothing.  This could have been prevented, not by gun control, but by just following up on things that were reported.  Now that is common sense solutions right there  :shaka:

Sad and tragic. However, it's time to be angry. Angry that people everywhere in America have to sit there and be slaughtered like cattle. All because the politicians think they know better that us. They supposedly represent us, yet they let these people die without even a chance to defend against a person wishing to kill. I am tired of all of this. I refuse to be a victim. I will not let someone just shoot me, or my family members and be defenceless to do anything about it! 'Shelter in place' I say hell no! I will go down defending my rights! Notice how this story fell off the front pages rather quickly once it was determined that the shooter in fact DID NOT have an AR-15?  Funny how it got swept under the carpet really quick.  Especially given that he used only a shotgun to begin with.  Two days ago it was all gun control and anti-assault weapon. Now??? Where is the media with the truth???

I think the media dropped the ball on this one BIG TIME. Everyone was so quick to make accusations, that no one really knew what he used or how he got it.

I never thought I'd see a tragedy, that could have been a major backing for another gun control issue, dissipate so quickly.

Yep, it didn't fit the agenda so now it is almost as if it has already been forgotten.

"Obama said Tuesday he was concerned that an American “ritual” could emerge where every few months the nation suffers a horrific mass shooting, then fails to take action to stop the next one from occurring. He said he would continue speaking out about the need for new gun laws, but that ultimately, it’s up to lawmakers."

No secret I despise this usurper fraud, but can anyone deny that this sounds like he is clearly calling for more of the same?

Even if you do not wear a tinfoil hat, this statement should set off more than a few alarms, after the very creepy circumstances of the last few convenient shootings.

I think he is tipping his hand to his base that more "events" are being planned until he gets what he wants.............
