Title: Brass processing in HI
Post by: Alaskana on March 03, 2011, 04:26:17 PM
Once I get my gear down here, I'm debating getting a business license and doing reloading prep on the side.

Would anyone be interested in getting their prep work done locally? Ultrasonic cleaning, resize, trim, pocket and flash hole uniform would be the standard. Or is there not much of a market for that here?

Interesting idea.  I hope it goes well for you.

I do my own prep on my cases, going for the most accuracy.

Bulk guys may be interested.?.

Yeah,  I also reload and wonder if I can get primers, powder and pills.   I presently shoot 1000 yard matches and have found a 600 yard range on Oahu (Puuloa) with CMP matches.  So the move to 808 is looking better.   I will be in Hilo however and wonder about transporting Firearms between the islands.  How can I do this?  Boat?  Airplane?  are there any 1000 yard ranges on any of the islands?   OIr xcabn I just find a cantyon and plink away.   The pig hunting looks awesome.  Is it?

Oh,  By the way,  I am still on the fence about moving to Hawaii from Utah.

Honestly, Hilo has practically 0 gun culture. I'm there currently. Local ammo prices are insane and no decent shops. Reloading components don't exist.

It's nice here. Just not much of a gun place. Only range near costs $150 a year and has a 8 page app of bylaws.
