Title: Protests planned for Obama Oahu visit?
Post by: punaperson on December 20, 2013, 12:40:32 PM
Anyone there on Oahu planning on greeting Mr. Obama and expressing your sentiments re his "common sense gun safety" proposals? If he were coming to the Big Island I would definitely make a sign and wave it at his motorcade.

The President's Plans for his 2013 Hawaii Vacation [I'm not sure if this is actually real, or a parody... but the real schedule might have to remain "secret" to prevent him from hearing too many complaints...]

Like most Americans, President Obama is a creature of habit. After an incredibly tumultuous year, the President plans to relax this trip and visit some of his favorite places.

   - Daily morning workout at the Semper Fit Center at MCBH
   - Golf at the Kaneohe Klipper golf course
   - Golf at the Ko'olau Golf Club
   - Dinner at Alan Wong's Restaurant
   - Dinner at Nobu Waikiki
   - Dinner at Morimoto Waikiki
   - Visit Punchbowl Cemetery
   - Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay on Tuesday when it's closed
   - Christmas Day: Visit service members at Anderson Hall
   - New Year's Eve: Traditional talent show at home
   - Bowling at K-Bay Lanes at MCBH
   - Basketball at MCBH
   - Swim at Pyramid Rock Beach
   - Shave Ice at Island Snow in Kailua
   - Hike the Maunawili trail

Yeah, they go the cheap route for the Christmas vacation in Hawaii. The trip last week for the Mandela memorial service and selfie cost $11.5 million for just a couple of days (and even that price tag didn't prevent a psychiatrically-disturbed fake "interpreter" once charged with murder from being within a few feet of the President and other foreign leaders). And the trip with the whole family to Africa earlier in 2013 for 8 days cost over $100 milliion... for example: "Military cargo planes will bring 56 vehicles including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the Obamas will stay."  :wtf: Hey, it's not their money. It's our money. Or used to be.

I'll be happy to give his motorcade the finger when they close down H1 and prevent us from using the overpasses when his Majesty is en route to wherever he's going. Last year I had to wait over 10 minutes at the Liliha Street overpass while his highness passed beneath.

I lost track of the local Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment movement.  But remember our Constitutional rights have been stomped on by the dictator in chief - isn't there some anti-free speech bubble zone around the p.o.s. now so you can be arrested if protesting nearby?

Not sure about that but there is an RF free zone around the motorcade as we were once told by SS to stop flying RC aircraft at Halawa when the President visited Camp Smith.

I wouldn't be surprised that any activity within a certain distance is now forbidden, especially anything appearing to contradict or question the enlightened views of the "light worker". Mr. Obama seems to desire to be "out of touch" with what is really going on, despite his claim that he wants to be told the truth by his staff. I guess that staff just forgot to mention a few things to him (see Michael Ramirez cartoon below. He left out several instances, including Fast and Furious, but you can only get so much into a single panel cartoon.). Not that him hearing protestors or even facts from staff would have any effect on his views. It's a done deal, no matter what anyone anywhere might convey to him one way or another. Still, even though it might be nothing more that pure symbolism, I think there would be some satisfaction in knowing that one made an effort to let the guy know just how much you despise his policies and total disregard for the Constitution and the American citizens who value that document and its values.

... while H.R. 347, on its own, is only of incremental importance, it could be misused as part of a
larger move by the Secret Service and others to suppress lawful protest by relegating it to particular locations
at a public event. These "free speech zones" are frequently used to target certain viewpoints or to keep
protesters away from the cameras. Although H.R. 347 doesn't directly address free speech zones, it is part
of the set of laws that make this conduct possible...
