Just picked up a sig 1911-22 (aka GSG 1911-22) and starting up a thread about it.

Shot 100rnds cci minimags flawlessly today.
Got a good deal on mags and am about to order the performance package from CWA which should help with reliability and accuracy
So far so good. This has been a good introduction to the 1911 platform and may be the start of a new obsession...45 and 9 soon to come
Will update with progress as I go along

9mm in a 1911 platform is very fun to shoot. I wish there were as many variants in 9mm as there were in 45.
-
Oh oh, a 1911 obsession will surely turn into an addiction, and you thought that the BRD was bad.
-
Glad to hear it ran good Dirsh.
Just picked up mine recently and according to our friends at HPD, a crap load of them were registered recently due to the OGC sale.
(What a deal ! Thanks OGC )
Haven't had a chance to shoot mine, but I'll get back to you once I do.
How about a link to the performance package ? ( Cause I'm lazy ) :shaka:
Mr. FarKnocker got one too, and he reported his ran flawless also, but he polished the rail.
-
Awesome! It's amazing that the 1911 design is 102 years old. What a forward thinker.
-
Tagged to see what others do to mod theirs too.
-
I wanted to pick one up.....the wife said "no". After that one word was spoken, I went into a denial coma. The faint words of groceries, rent, and bills all went into a blur of a conversation. Some day it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

I will be hand polishing the rails too
-
I didn't want to be disappointed the first time out to the range with mine so I polished the rails by taking off the paint with solvent as opposed to sandpaper and polished what I could with metal polisher.
I ran over a hundred rounds of just about the crappiest bulk ammo out there through her (Winchester hollow point 333pk) and she functioned flawlessly. I couldn't be happier. Of course my shots were all over the paper but that's another story. My only complaint about the pistol is that the thumb safety is mushy. Will see if that can be remedied in the near future.
Here she is with her older brother, a Colt 1903 .32 ACP (c.1928)

It's crazy how a reasonably price pistol can turn into an expensive one. Thanks dirsh for being the test dummy let us know how all these after market products work out for you
-
Just removed the mag safety disconnect. Understanding more how 1911s operate
-
so how did the cw parts work out for you? anyone else used the cw or any other upgraded parts?
-
I ended up not getting the parts for it (yet). It runs great as long as I keep it clean.
-
yah I noticed that also need to keep her clean and wet! been contemplating about getting the upgraded parts from either CWA or ZRTS not sure yet.
