Starting in 2014, the Honolulu Police department will start to implement a 3 year plan to replace their older Smith & Wesson Model 5906 (which are no longer in production) with the Glock 17.

Supposedly sold to samoa dunno if all of them are going. If not from what ive been told officers will have option to purchase it a low low price
-
I swear I heard that part of the Glock deal was that they would "trade in" the old 5906's.
-
Maybe end up on AIM Surplus or CDNN as dept trade ins.

I have the little version which is great. For some reason the full size version was not as accurate. That is why I did not care for the big size. They are quite reliable though.

It bought I read another country's police force was picking them up for use?
-
I heard from an HPD buddy of mine that Glock made a deal with them to trade in the S&W 5906s for a good deal on the G17.
-
No trade ins or selling of firearms. They are not owned by the HPD, and are technically C&C property who has their own rules.

My cop friend told me he believes they are going to allow the officers who carry them the chance to buy it for cheap. But that's just a rumor he heard.
