Just kidding. Never gonna happen. Wonder why those Israeli women are considered so much more responsible than U.S. citizens (with the exception of a few states).
Looks like we might have trouble here even getting some committees to schedule a hearing on concealed carry, which the federal courts seem to have decided is mostly a "shall issue" situation.

Time and persistence, that's all. And people to stop saying 'never.'

Hey Tom_G. Well I was kinda kidding around, but not really. I seriously doubt that people using (or not using) any particular words will have any effect on what actually happens regarding Hawaii firearm legislation. But I'm willing to listen to your case.
Just because I don't see how Hawaii will ever see a scene where citizens are carrying fully automatic weapons (I'm assuming those might be IDF members with select fire weapons) in public places doesn't mean that I'm not attempting to influence legislation in whatever ways I am able.
I just finished reading Nelson "Pete" Shields's 1981 book about how he got involved with the group that came to be known under his leadership as "Handgun Control Incorporated" (now the Brady Campaign...). In his first years as a political activist he was very disappointed that his goal of a total ban on all civilian ownership and possession of handguns made so little headway. But he was convinced, at that point, that all that was needed to achieve his goal of the total handgun ban was "time and persistence". It can't be true for both sides, can it?

In Isreal all active military personnal must carry their service firearm at all times even when off duty.
One mag is usually carried somewhere accessable. In Tel Avi its a common site to see just about everyone with a firearm in plain sight.
Israel is at a constant state of war.
