I work at a school and those have been up for a few years now. Our school has an air rifle team, so, hmm, never thought of that.

If a school has an air riflery team, and also has these signs, there is a disconnect at the administrative level.  A school, an administration, should really practice what it preaches, or preach what it practices.

This seems to only exist to ensure the only person with a firearm is the crazy, psychotropic drug taking mass murderer in a School Zone.
Turns the law abiding citizens and their dependents into victims instead.

Do they understand that the sign is not likely to deter crazy boy, but rather motive him as he thinks he can commit atrocities unopposed?

My daughter went there.
Kamiloiki is an elementary school. Up to 6th grade only. No air rifle program there.

Heck, when my son was in the third grade his friend and he were called into the office for playing finger guns at recess.

I had to laugh and "reprimand" him.

Reminds me of the joke:
Principal: Your son was caught with dirty magazines.
Dad:         That's just because he got tired after cleaning our gun.

Although I gotta admit, airsoft guns, and now pellet guns, can be pretty damn realistic looking.

The school actually called you for this? Are you freaking kidding me? For "finger guns"?

While it's not the dumbest thing I've ever heard, it's close. I would've been PISSED!

They need to start doing a better job of teaching our kids reading, writing, and arithmetic instead of worrying about finger guns.

IMHO, we need to stop tolerating this idiocy from these people, it only encourages them to go further with their agenda.

They should make a sign that says...

"Gun Free Zone Take One For The Team"

I really don't see why there should not be at least one trained qualified ARMED person

on every campus.. creates more jobs with the potential of saving more lives.... :-\

It boggles my mind how they really didn't take all these school shootings in a reality light...

Talk about "FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY"........ or ignorance..

Kids get kicked outta school for making gun gestures with their hands while crazies are

basically allowed to come in and shoot kids and teachers with no one to stop them.....  :-[

For "finger guns"?

I'm sure they would not want your kid to finger bang another kid...
