This is a question for local LEO's.
What is the general attitude, opinions and feelings regarding 2A rights and ccw?

The one police officer I know doesn't feel really strongly either way. He has more of a "go with the flow" attitude and keeps everything private.

My LEO friend is just pro firearms in general. He hasn't been on the force very long though. From articles I've read I get a "people are too stupid to own guns" vibe from the police force as a whole. I don't agree with the atitude, but I understand where it comes from. More guns make their job more dangerous. There's more paperwork for them when people use guns (both law abiding citizens and criminals alike). In general guns create more risk and more work for them.
But to me it's like being a waiter and wanting to confiscate all the salt shakers, pepper shakers, ketchup, mustard, shoyu bottles, packets of sugar and sweet and low because it'll make their job easier to clean up. However they get stopped every five seconds from a customer needing a condiment for their food or coffee. Why take away from people what they can do for themselves?

Saving your life and the life of somebody is more worth every paperwork. So, what do we do discourage the law abiding citizen and have the criminals a free rein. If it creates more risk all the other states that believe in 2A rights would've have their crime rate go up, but instead it went down. How many times you hear on the news about guys roaming that have like 40 prior convictions and yet you worry about the law abiding citizen.
"Taking my gun away because I might shoot someone is like cutting my tongue out because I might yell `Fire!' in a crowded theater."
-Peter Venetoklis
"The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose."
-James Earl Jones
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one."
-Thomas Jefferson
Lastly, didn't they took an oath to support and defend the constitution?

You mean I still gotta do paperwork and I didn't even get to shoot anyone?!?!?!?!? aaawww man :( .... :shaka:

To think about it, I think it would be less paperwork. Cause when a BG doesn't know who's armed or who's not he would think twice about his action does preventing a crime happening, not only save paperwork but also medical and government expenses. And this has been proven in which law abiding citizens who carry both open and concealed have prevented a crime that is about to happen.
