Just giving you guys a heads up on a great price for those plastic 5 gallon military water cans, amazon has em for ~$45 but I found em direct from LC Industries for 24.99 a piece. I have been looking at these for a while because I want to get a few of them for camping and water storage. Right now I have a couple of those blue aquatainers you can get at walmart. I have already destroyed one with minimal use. They work ok but are definitely not very sturdy. FYI if you have one of them they fit perfectly in a regular plastic milk crate. Helps to protect the container ;) I have not been able to get my hands on one of these military ones yet but from the reviews it seems like they are pretty indestructible and made out of HDPE
Anyway here is the link. Looks like you can get free shipping too in the lower 48
The website is www.buylci.com (http://www.buylci.com) and if you search for "water cans" they have the OD green and Desert Tan ones

I also found them on uncle sams retail outlet for $80 but those ones have a bunch of fittings also into the container, the description does not really tell what exactly they do but from the looks of them you pump in compressed air and then you have water pressure. I have thought about doing something like that because a while back I put a new radiator in my jeep that has provisions for an automatic trans that I am not using. Basically i could pump water through the hot radiator and get warm/hot showers  If anyone has used the ones like they have with those fittings i'd like to hear how it works exactly. Typing in the NSN number did not return any real results in google.

Basically looks to me like quick connect male is your air input. The quick connect female probably has a tube to the bottom of the jug and the pressure relief valve so you don't blow the container...

Ouch on the shipping. If that is the case amazon is the way to go with free shipping. Right now they have the OD ones for 35 bucks.
I'm going to order 4 of these from buylci in a month or so and have them sent to a mainland address with the free shipping but to hawaii I guess it is a no go. The cost of living in hell I guess

Update,
I didn't read down to what they charged for shipping until I went through checkout and purchased 4. I forgot that they were quoted at $24.95 above. I paid $29.95 each, but am ok with it. Shipping, handling, tax = 000
maybe orders over $100 are free shipping? Happy happy happy, I stand with Phil......

Looks like right now they are $25.99, I guess the price moves around a bit. I ordered 4 of them a few weeks ago for 24.99 and free shipping on orders over $50 but I had them sent to an address in Oregon and they were mailed UPS ground. Looking forward to testing them out and maybe order a few more once I get back to the mainland. They seem good for portable storage but not practical for large quantity water storage when you can get those blue 55 gallon drums from costco for 100 bucks online.

The Wife drinks Arizona Sweet Tea by the gallon.
I just wash out the container and save them.
Almost 1/4 of my storage shed is empty gallon bottles.
Freshly filled gallons in cool place should last for a while along with purification efforts.
For the toilet, Clean and fill your C & C refuse bins. Did mine Sunday.
Reminds me, time to run and fill my air compressor.
Use non ethanol boat gas, keeps normally well over 3 months.
Blue tarp and a case of Nails, just in case......
Make sure your chain saw is prepped also, you will most likely Need it.
Lots of garbage bags to put stuff you want to save if your home takes a hit.
Lots of Benadryl for your dogs to keep them calm. Be surprised at how many it takes.......

Too much sugar in that sweet tea...bad for the health.
Good idea about the cc cans. Never thought of that.
Also good idea on the tarps and nails.
Thanks.

If you can get food-grade buckets with the screw-on lids w/o-ring those are better IMO as you can store virtually anything in them.
