I live way to far to drive to the range regularly.
Leeward side.
My takings to the range is about 6-7 guns out of my 56 gun lot in hawaii alone. No safe queens all shooters.
I try to make it down there at least twice when back on island.
-
I live Leeward also my collection is no where near as large as yours. The most I have brought recently is 5 guns but yesterday was just 2 rifles and 1 pistol. I usually will go with 3-4 friends and we will all bring different firearms most of common overlapping calibers and just shoot each other's stuff.
-
That would be cool.
I always seem to shoot alone.
None of my friends or family likes guns.
-
I usually go shooting with at least a couple people everytime.
I used to be the guy that brought 6 or 7 guns.
Everybody would shoot my stuff but the problem is that I always got stuck cleaning the guns myself.
Nowadays I bring only 1-2 guns on a range trip.
If I can, I bring no guns and just provide the ammo while shooting my friends guns.

just post when you are going and 2aHI members usually report if they are going or what bench they are at
-
As many as I stand to clean in one evening
-
Generally I bring two rifles and two pistols. If no benches I shoot pistol first, if get benches I shoot rifle first.
-
1-2
too lazy to clean much more than that.

Quote from my sig armorer course:
"#1 Problem causing breakage of peoples guns: They clean them too much."

I try to make it to the range between 11:00 and 12:00. Seems the morning crowd is leaving for lunch, so finding a spot is easy.
I normally have from 1-3 people with me. Sometimes I don't even shoot much. I stand there reload mags and keep an eye on the others particularly if they aren't seasoned shooters.
We'll spend 1 1/2 hours or so on the pistol range, then switch to rifles. We leave sometime between 3:00 and closing depending on what else we have to do that afternoon.
Number of pistols range from 2 to 4, depending on what others are interested in trying. I try to not take too many varieties of caliber, because the ammo can get quite heavy.
Number of rifles is usually 2-4. I always take at least one .22LR and an AR-15. If someone wants to try a Mosin or my AK-47, I'll bring a 91/30, an M44, and/or my Arsenal AK..
It might take that night and the next night to clean them all, but I don't really mind. I work on computers all day, so doing something different is relaxing.
I supply all the ammo, do all the prep, make all the targets, haul everything outside and back inside, and do all the cleaning. Who said doing something for others is supposed to be easy?
I especially enjoy taking new/not-very-recent shooters out. They really get a kick out of the Mosins! >:D

:geekdanc:

I want enough guns in the car that it leaves the bumper scraping. :P

Great strategy KK !

1-2 on a pistol day.
1-2 on a rifle day.

Great strategy KK !
It works for everyone involved.
I provide ammo for me and my friend and he gets stuck with the cleaning.
Everyone wins.
-
The more guns you bring the more you got to clean. The last time I went down I brought down 6 pistols and 4 rifles.
-
On average. 2 pistols, 2 rifles.
I always have the 2 is 1, 1 is none mentality
Last weekend, I invited a friend and his son to shoot so that called for 4 rifles and 6 pistols....he had fun O0
-
Usually just 1-2.
-
It depends on whether I will be shooting at the rifle side, steel side, trap side or all three. It also depends who I'm going with, and whether I'll be bringing any new shooters along too. Usually at least my AR, my .22lr AR, my shotgun (if it is a sunday), and at least one handgun.
-
At most about 4 (2 rifles and 2 pistols). As others have said, the cleaning is the limiting factor.
-
Most times 4 rifles and maybe a handgun every now and then . It's pretty much just me and my dad
-
WD-40 eh?
-
I typically don't clean one short of several thousand rds fired thru the handgun, or several hundred thru the centerfire rifle. Just another shot of WD40 and shoot some more. I once fired 24,000 rds of cast bullet handloads thur a .45 1911 in 6 weeks. I cleaned the Colt 8x in that period. 2 of the times were to demo to students how it is done. No malfuntions blamable on the gun, altho a couple of old GI mags fell apart. Some parts broke, and I swapped them when I noticed, but the gun kept working.
Wait!!!!
How many firearms do you bring to the range?
:stopjack:
-
These days I only bring around 3 rifles since my sons hardly shoot now
-
I bring my HD pistol every range trip and maybe one or two other handguns. And since ammo is expensive and scarce these days every other range trip I bring my rifle. I clean after every range trip since I shoot the cheap stuff.
-
It depends on what I'm doing at the range, but usually 2 -3.
