Title: Anyone have Gout?
Post by: K30l4 on February 25, 2014, 09:46:15 AM
I had some bouts with gout in the last 2 years. This time the colcrys pills and pain pills not working. I have been drinking black cherry juice and lots of water. This time around has been the worst ever.

Any suggestions?

I stopped eating a lot of foods. Mainly eat chicken
Not even turkey. No pork. You must be eating
Something to form more crystals.

Black cherry juice 1 cup a day
1 gallon water a day. Take aleve if really bad

U gotta melt the crystals.  They didn't form in a day.

I've been taking the colcrys pills since Sunday with little relief. I was trying to recount what foods I had eaten over the last week. Maybe chili (Beef and beans...)

Runs in the family here.
My dad took pills that basically cured him. As long as he took them
He used to get severe bouts with seafood, especially shell fish.
My cousin can't even look at pork without starting to limp.

I started having issues a few years ago and thats when I noticed my Min_pin was constantly licking my toes and feet, particularily the painful areas.
Hurt like hell at first but I let him go.
Now trouble free as he licks them as necessary every morning when I get up, around noon and just before I go to bed.
I say as necessary because if there is no issue (pain) he does'nt lick them.

POS actually has a purpose.

What NOT to eat:

Seafood
Herring
Aspargus
Cauliflower
Spinach
Mushrooms
High Frutcose Corn Syrup
Turkey
Goose
Pork
Wild Game Meats
Beef (no more than 4 oz a day)
Chicken (no more than 4 oz a day)
Liver
Kidneys
Sweetbreads
Beer

There are actually several types of foods that may help protect you against gout. These include low-fat dairy foods, complex carbohydrates,
coffee, and fruits, especially citrus fruits. You should also be sure to get 12 to 16 cups of fluid daily.

You don't necessarily have to drink only water (although it shouldn’t be beer!)—you can choose non-sweetened juice, tea, and coffee too.

Starts to feel better after moving around. After taking a rest is another story. Feel like my toes are going to explode!

Yeah, I think it's about circulation via massage or motion.
I guess the dog licking my toes is kinda like getting a massage.
I tend to rub them too so I guess both actions tend to "break up" the crystals.

Dry taking the time if you can to just rub/massage them on a regular basis.
Take 10 minutes off when you can and give yourself a good toe rub.
Do at regular intervals so you can see if it makes a difference.
