My cousin is coming from Kauai and is a big time hunter up there. He is gonna be in town for a week and will be borrowing one of my ar's in .223. I'll be using either another ar or a bolt action .270. He normally hunts dog and knife but he is good with a rifle too. Problem is I don't have any dogs and don't know of anywhere to take a good shot at some pigs on this island. Would anyone be down to let a beginner (me) and a pro (cousin) tag along. Thanks bradahs.

Hope you get somebody on Oahu to help you man. If I was in your shoes I'd be stoked to have someone seasoned from another island take me out.

My cousin and I hunt Kauai together all the time. I go home at least once or twice a month and always bring my gear. I have friends here that hunt with dogs so we could tag along no problem but what I am wanting to do is get off a 2-300 yard shot and I don't know of anywhere on Oahu that is possible. With dogs everywhere we go is all overgrown, thick brush so no sense even bring a rifle. My other option is to go out and find a good vantage point to a clearing and then start digging and baiting the clearing and hope to create a wallow. If I do that for the next couple weeks maybe by the time my cousin comes up here we'll be able to take a shot.
