I dont know why but I smell a RAT!
Already FFL dealers are not allowed to buy directly from the "The Freedom Group"

I've been trying to find what the Freedom Group was valued at. The best info I can find is that it was bought by Cerberus for about $150M and they were looking to sell in 2012 for around $700M-900M.
Here's a link to the press release:

it could be a publicity ploy by the "smart gun" makers too

Is what you're saying that retail pricing was increased because a middle-man takes their cut too?

That could very well be too. If they did file the form 8K and misrepresented their finances - the SEC will come down very hard on them. If they say they're going to but don't actually file they'll still get into trouble.

well then maybe not
no one really wants to run afoul of the SEC

Either way I'm waiting to see how this shakes out. The same topic covered in a couple of different sources:

My concern is this company with Smart Gun Tech is planning to ram this crappy technology down the throats of the American people. Oh yes it is safer. but for who? Who controls the "Master Button"?
Plus they can GPS the gun anytime. How can that be good? You know criminals will be able to use this info against the law abiding and also will the Govt.
I dont want a firearm that is able to be controlled by anyone! Do you?

I think this whole thing was shibai on GDSI's part. They filed with a lowball offer knowing Cerberus wouldn't call their bluff so to speak and make them open up their books. Freedom group had 1.2 B in sales last year.
