whats the projected start and end times on saturday?
i also may be able to volunteer for the first half of the day on sunday.
when you say work crew will be clearing the brush, does that mean a c&c crew? if not, i might be able to help with that too. i only have stupid useless plug in weedwhackers and chainsaws, but i do have about 5 various machetes to manually clear brush.. and i could use a workout :-[

work crew-
not c&c, volunteer hra crew
start and end times
fair runs from 8-4
we need you to be there early for orientation and assignment of duties
will also nee help setting up
end time is whenever you need to go
we will be cleaning up rubbish and brass for a while, plus we will be doing a quick cleaning of weapons (at least boresnake and wipedown)
sunday start is a lot easier, since everything will already be setup
but cleanup will be more extensive since we have to pack up everything and will need to clean some stuff more thoroughly
-
since my schedule varies I cannot guarantee what time I will be there, but I'll come down to help

ok cool.
for now i can be there all day saturday, from setup til cleanup. i can bring clp, microfiber towels, and a few boresnakes and a 2x2 aluminum table to run a 2 man boresnaking and wipedown area. i have .22/.223, .308, .40, .44/.45, 12 gauge boresnakes. i also have a 36" carbonfiber rod with a pretty decent otis cleaning kit that has some other calibers that i dont have boresnakes for. like .270, 20 gauge etc.

Put me down for Saturday. What kind of help do you need? I volunteered last year for HRA and did the early shift. Will there be shifts as well?

you can choose to do all day, or half day (morning or afternoon)
we will mainly need help with crowd control, helping people choose guns, loading mags
selected people will be manning the line
we appreciate any help you can give us

What is the Airsoft venue all about, and the needs for that?
I have a good amount of that kind of gear, although with relaxed springs that are no longer high powered.

Needs to be done indoors. Outside, wind is too much of a factor. A light breeze blows targets over since they're very light - thin aluminum vs. 1/2" AR500 steel.

Very true. We would need a tent with side walls.

Very true. We would need a tent with side walls.
Last years SSF Airsoft range consisted of a refrigerator box with a target on a pully system .
Hole cut in box to fit target and pully system which other end is attached to tent. Target attached to pully with cardboard and spring clips.
Client shoots target, airsoft ammo collects in box (have additional angled backing behind target so airsoft ammo does not penetrate through other side of box).
Replace target via pully system so no cease fire required.
Collect airsoft ammo from box during cease fire
Most shooters were kids so no great distance to target required

Thanks for the reply on the airsoft venue, how many guns did you folks have running?
Were they donated equipment and set up or did an airsoft store do that?

That sounds much better.
Away from the "Guns" for the bang shy and you'll have more room to have a real nice action shooting gallery !

yeah
the hra guys said the mommies and the littlest ones stayed in the middle away from the "loud guns" and they were shooting the archery over and over
this gives another alternative
