Title: Most reliable AR-15
Post by: Redtail on November 18, 2009, 11:07:10 PM
What's the best and most reliable AR-15?  Is Rock River Arms pretty good?

A lot of industry professionals i.e. Special Ops community, and Law Enforcement all seem to favor Colt, LMT, Noveske, LWRC and pretty much in that order.  Colt's seem to be the Holy Grail of the AR platform mainly from a reliability standpoint.  Rock River seems to be a good choice although many AR professionals do not like the wylde chamber.

In my opinion, Colt is probably the best built, but has the crapiest trigger.  I built my own lower but shoot an LMT upper with an LMT bolt carrier group.  Although I heard rumors that LMT resorted to some MIM parts in the bolt carrier group which would make them less desirable.

reliable how?? accuracy? durability? consistency? dependability? reliable as in, pull trigger, shot fired, or sub-moa groups all day. I think ARs are basically what your willing to spend. But the good thing is, its like frankenstein, you can take a good lower, match it with a good upper, slap in some good parts, and a good optic, and viola!! its ALIVE!! Just clean your guns and they always be "reliable".  :shaka:

Based on kGS's website I would go colt or DD.  just because steel cased ammo cycles reliably through those two according to his tests.

Hard to go wrong with colt resale and their current pricing.

Most AR's made by reputable manufacturers are going to be reliable for most shooters.

I've never had any malfunctionsof any kind in my Noveske and my M6-IC
