Saw the commercial. What a douche. Why make this stand when it's not a issue here. We don't have the mass shootings or all the other crazy shit that happens on the mainland. I want to hear how your gonna make this state and country better. Not hampering legal law abiding citizens and just repeating shit Pres. Zero wants the public to believe. F him and FBHO
-
just another NObama butt kisser / yes man.
that's all.
-
I saw it last night. What a weasel. Obamas new patsy.
The commercial made me sick. I'm so glad I didn't support him 30 years ago when he came on the scene.
-
So sad! USED to like the guy.
-
He's not getting my vote!!!!!

Just looked at this. 3 likes. 349 dislikes!

I was number 1 dislike ! :shaka: the fellas here on 2a is responsible for all those thumbs down :shaka:

He has never come close to getting my vote so this changes nothing for me other than being even more outspoken against him. Even with how liberal Hawaii is, I don't think that stance in an add is a wise or even necessary move on his behalf.

I'm thinking thats just his ploy because its been a hot topic these past years especially with those donkeys in hawaii kai about our own range. Im figuring he's targeting the naive majority.

I would like to know his definition of what an "assault weapon" is.

I would like to know his definition of what an "assault weapon" is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon)
the U.S. Justice Department said, "In general, assault weapons are semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use.
-
.
-
Define 'large magazine'.
A saiga 12 has a large magazine; almost twice the size of a standard AK magazine, and yet it only holds 10-12 rounds.
Any attempt to place an arbitrary number of rounds on what constitutes "large" is always debatable.
The definition by the justice dept is vague, because there is no definitive, industry or government standard definition for "assault weapon."
They are using the same yardstick the judges used for deciding what constituted pornography: "I can't tell you what it is, but I know it when I see it."
Subjective, arbitrary, and nondescript..

Some one needs to make a nice letter to send to Mr. Shatz Team that we can all copy and paste. I love spaming Dems.

Even if Schatz loses in the primary to Hanabusa it's not like that she has a different view than him

Agreed, but I think it is more that neither of them are the correct choice in the eyes of many of us. The sober reality however, is that Hawaii is so deeply entrenched in the Democratic / liberal / political / union mindset that hopes for anything but a Democratic victory is a monumental task. This does not mean that we should not lobby or vote our belief but it is a huge battle in this State. The blind voting doctrine here runs deep.

I hope Hawaii realizes that we can't build anymore cereal factories - we're going to run out of room and we need to eat more than just cereal.

Agreed, the true battle we're fighting is against willful ignorance.

I agree with the general sentiment, but we did have a republican governor recently. There is some hope.

I am curious to see what Tulsi Gabbard's position is on 2A issues. I have tried to do some research and am unable to find her positions on the topic. At face value she seems to be the only member of Hawaii's congressional caucus that may actually have a clue.

her position is poor. i think she voted no on feinstein's bill, but there's also this, which shows us that while she isnt the WORST enemy, she is no friend either.

All six candidates vying for the Democratic nomination of Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District seat said they would support legislation that would make it more difficult to obtain, if not create an outright national ban on, high-capacity magazines for semiautomatic weapons.
The candidates’ answers on the KHET-TV show “Insights” Thursday night came nearly seven days after a gunman killed 12 people and injured 58 others in an Aurora, Colorado movie theater.
Councilwoman Tulsi Gabbard said the gun reform measure introduced by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., should have been passed years ago. “If we’d taken action back then, then perhaps this terrible tragedy which just occurred a few days ago could possibly have been prevented.”

search her name in the forum, and it will take you to a letter that she sent me.
She's a big fat piece of shit like everyone else, and likes to use the fact that she volunteered for a " combat tour" to Kuwait to her advantage to suck in veterans for support.
oh lol, forgot about that. yep. no respect. thanks for reminding me.
to her, we're all peasants who cant be trusted with firearms.
also doesnt give a single shit about what her constituents want.

I have to agree with the opinion of what was posted previously about TG. The response I got via email, due to her extensive military training, she has more firearms training than anyone in the state. In which she the residents of Hawaii need stricter gun control laws. Albeit, it seems like she is the only one with a clue but, DUCK FAT!!!! I will vote for someone else.

i would run for senate but gotta be 30, and i don't know how well a person would do if i didn't have a D next to my name

Actually we kind of know how that one has been playing out in Hawaii. Would be great to see a paradigm shift. Unfortunately my vote seems to never be the deciding vote. More people in our camp need to vote or it will remain status quo.

I'm afraid I'd be unable to hide the effects of being around Liberals for more than a couple of hours...
