Yea was pretty crazy I was leaving the 711 across the street and saw officers running out the station
-
Be safe out there

Police have called off their search for a man with a gun following more than an hour of searching a building in Kapolei Tuesday afternoon..... No suspect was found, and the search was called off after 3 p.m. No injuries were reported.
What? That's it? That's news? ::)

Jeeeeeez PEOPLE!!! All I did was walk around the Post Office with my Mosin Nagant with the bayonet attached and someone called the police!!! I figured everyone does that. I didn't think anyone would notice. :wtf:
But seriously, there was a shitload of cops blocking off the streets around the post office. Had to go around to get to Foodland to get my poke. And they never found the guy.

I have a feeling somebody was carrying an air soft replica. >:D

If i where forced to be locked down in my office, I'd be cursing this state for not letting me be able to protect myself with my firearm!

Unless I read it wrong, I think the law lets us transport our weapons to "place of business."
It would be our employer's policy that prevents us from bringing our guns to work.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong..

I read it as "your business" so if you don't own it then, sorry SOL. i could be wrong...
-
I any case they would probably slap you with charges.... since the guy was..... "such a god boy.... and wouldd't hurt a fly...."
-
Hmmm speaking of place of business, if I owned a food truck then would I be able to carry since the food truck is my place of business?
-
You'd think huh?
But wouldn't that fall under the laws of carrying in a vehicle?
-
So I guess the question is which takes precedence, a law that permits or a law that forbids?
-
I'm not a lawyer...
Throw in the question of carrying in an RV or Camper. If someone was living in a camper, can they carry?
-
From what I've read "residence" usually requires a fixed address. Place of business may also be under that rule since it's a place.
Just my 2.3 cents.
-
From my understanding, your interpretation is correct.

+1 sounds like someone got a new airsoft gun

I would assume that constitutionally it would have to be allowed if that was the only place of residence. Or else you would essentially be banned from owning a firearm. Would also be the same if you lived on a boat or homeless.
Back to the topic, was probably someone with a pellet gun, broom stick, or prank call.
-
I noticed none of the news reported what type of gun the man was seen with. Usually they are too eager to write "assault rifle" or "semiautomatic handgun". No mention in the news. I'm assuming the people saw the guy walking around and assumed he had a gun.

I cannot recall the case name, but Hawaii Courts said a vehicle is not a residence, and therefore not afforded the privileges normally associated with a residence, even if you are living in it.

They had the search going on and they didn't even let everyone in the building know what was going on till later.
Police going in with ar's while the employees were walking around like no ones business lol
-
I don't know.
One witness
Vague description of perp
Gun tot'n across from PD (awesome response time!)
Police fiind nothing.
I'm no expert on body language but...
" if I can save at least one life then I'm happy"
That guy must be a "HERO" ! ::)
