Title: First AR build

My First AR build, just finished it tonight. 5.45x39, New Frontier Arms plastic lower, Bushmaster upper, Ballistic Advantage 16" barrel 1/8 twist, Spikes BCG, Spikes gas tube, Wolff extra power hammer spring, No name free float handguard.

you are missing mags and ammo as well as perhaps a sling...  might I suggest taking a trip down to OGC tactical to pick up a few of the missing items while they are on sale.

What made you decide on the 5.45 round?

Did happen to stop by OGC today, and though I'm already well stocked in ammo doesn't mean I couldn't use more. Mags are on order from Gun Mag Warehouse. AK sling and GI issue mags I got from my son will suffice for now. What I really need is rail covers.

What made you decide on the 5.45 round?

Price, and I like the round. I already own a couple of '74s. Don't want to have to stock another size round which is as close to what I'm already shooting.

Interesting choices, particularly the NF lower and 5.45.  I bought my AK largely for the appeal of cheap ammo, then 7.62 prices went up and availability down.  I never watched 5.45 much though. 

I'm interested in seeing how the NF lower holds up for you.  Looking forward to reports on how the gun performs!  Best of luck!   :thumbsup:
