guys i know its a small detail but who keeps the pistol permit, does the shop keep it or do you take that back to HPD when u register?
Also the what pick up window after 14 days, is it days?
And how long do you have to register after you pick up a pistol or rifle. I have heard 48 hours for pistol and 72 for rifle.

HPD keeps the permit.
you get a receipt of registration, it's the top white copy , about A5 sized.

??? ???
The gun shop will have you sign one copy of the permit to acquire when you take possession of the handgun and you return that copy to HPD when you register the handgun.
HPD told me two days for handguns and five days for long guns. I asked them about picking up a handgun on Friday afternoon with Monday being a holiday and the officer told me just bring it in for registration on the first available day to register.

If i'm not mistaken,
You have a window of 5 days to pick up your permit after the 14 day wait period.
Handgun permit is then valid for 10 days to pickup your handgun.

According to the pick up dates I write down when I apply for a permit, you have a seven day window to pick up your permit although two of them will always be a Saturday and a Sunday so I guess five days to actually pick up your permit is correct. Aieahound you must be really good at word games if this is the answer 841gun was looking for. :worship: . . . or I'm really bad at them. ;D
