Note that airline passengers showing symptoms are being tested and quarantined, yet the incubation period is 21 days.

Post by: s197 on July 30, 2014, 05:48:50 PM: Ebola would need to mutate into an airborne virus similar to influenza for it to have any real chance of causing a pandemic. Right now it's relatively difficult to spread and does so primarily in countries where sanitation is a problem.

Not sayin' you should believe everything on YouTube but I haven't seen any credible scientific reports to the contrary. Ebola is a great "scary" disease for fiction writers and tin foil hat wearers but in actuality it seems to pose minimal risk in terms of its chances of becoming a global pandemic. It's basically the assault weapon of the disease world right now, great for fear mongering but of little substance once you get down to facts.

It only makes sense to put the infected in HI because it is easily quarantined from the rest of the civilized world.

There's no BSL 4 facility here, so that makes no sense.
