Anyone tried the Thumler's Model B or the Biggdawg wet tumbler? First of all I got a free $100 gift certificate to MidwayUSA which sells the Thumler. I'm wondering if it's worth paying the extra for the Biggdawg because it's so much better, last longer, holds more, won't rust, etc? Anyone have experience with any of them or hopefully both? It doesn't really matter to me how shiny it gets but more for cleaning the primer pockets on the rifle cases.
The Thumbler and medium Biggdawg ($405) says they can do up to 15lbs.
Thumbler's Model B - $183.99 - $100 = $83.99
Biggdawg - Ranges from $350-$429 not including up to a couple hundred in upgrade options.
Frankford Arsenal Platinum - $179.99 - $100 = $79.99

Also side question. How noisy is wet tumblers? Can I have it in my garage running late at night and it won't bother my neighbors?

I have a Thumler and keep in mind that water and the pins make up most of the weight. It is quieter than my vibe tumbler with the noise coming from the brass agitation. Thinking about replacing it with the Franford Arsenal wet tumbler as it can handle more weight and cost less than BigDawg's tumbler. I dont have BD but his motor is a lot bigger than the Thumler.

I also have a thumbler. I like it and the results it produces. It is quiet enough to run in a room with the door closed and not be really noticed. Capacity is limited and removing brass from media can be messy and slow, depending on your method. Therefore, I only really use it for rifle casings, unless the pistol cases are really cruddy.

The Frankford looks much simpler to use than the Thumler but there are way more reviews on the Thumler on Midway. There must be a reason why they all chose the Thumler over the Frankford.

After weeks of researching various brands of wet tumbler. I decided to made my own and copied the Biggdawg design. Its not hard to make a wet tumbler. At first I was going to buy the Thumbler but wanted something more custom. Both do the same thing, both clean brass. To me its like either owning a Honda vs a Harley. You can buy 3 Thumbler vs 1 Biggdawg. If you really want a Biggdawg, I would buy the frame package $220 and buy the motor locally at Grainger, save on shipping. My frame is made from Stainless Steel and replacement parts are out there. I believe mine will last a lifetime. My drum clean best about 9 pounds of brass and is more quieter than the dry tumbler.

got the thumler in the earlier 80's..........still going strong.
don't know about this wet thumbling but thumler was used to wet polish stones (lapidary) back in the day.
