Is a nickel boron BCG worth the upgrade on a stock ar-15? I got a mailer for a $99 BCG and was wondering if it's worth it.
Does it make reliability and cleaning that much better?

You need to be careful on some of the stuff being sold out there.
I have seen very poorly made stuff lately. Some of them take existing Bolt Carriers and remove the parkerizing
and recoat them. in the process they tend to over polish the BC to the point where the surfaces that need to be flat
are rounded.
They are easy to wipe down is the plus side.

Thanks Speedtek. By the way, I still could use your help with my son's 10/22 stock. Need to get it over to you one of these days.

I would say on a stock AR, no.
On a custom build where you want higher end components, yes.
A lot of guys think NIB they are useless and you should stay with a standard BCG, but the NIBs are nice for clean up and smooth cycling. Just like Dex said watch out for the cheapies.
