Bet he goes to the Puna district real soon...
both sides are going to go there to "help out people in need"
speeches on both sides were basically a plea for those 2 or 3 precincts to vote for them

Ambercrumby is out yet people still support shatz, goes to show the brain rot occurring today.
-
I am one of the ones who have yet to vote. Hahaha. Didn't think my vote counted :shaka:
-
Hanabusa was the first democrat I voted for in over forty years. Very odd feeling even if for a worthwhile cause........

My guess is the Demofelons dumped all their money into stealing the Shatz election because they didn't think the Old Hippie was that vulnerable. When you steal elections these oddball things happen.

Just got home from visiting my mom in Hilo. When my plane arrived at 3:30 i saw additional security heading towards the gate. Hanabusa was on the flight. Surprise surprise!
Puna area has lots or Waianae transplants, i think she might be able to pull this one off.

Talking to Family and Friends THEY ALL VOTED for Hanabusa because they didnt like SCHATZ.
Lets hope Djou gets some weight behind him.

I'm also having a hard time believing that many people voted for schatz against the wishes of Inouye.

Word was that massive amounts of money were coming in from moveon.org and other mainland leftist outfits to keep Shitz in office. Those same outfits are also skilled in vote fraud, so who knows?
I agree, Inouye had his faults politically, but he was a true American and Hawaiian hero that will never be forgotten or his influence not felt.
-
Locally, Shitz is getting support from all the grads of his and Obummer's alma mater also.
So it's interesting to see the Punahou guys working behind the scenes to get someone from their school into congress. I guess Obummer hasn't caused enough damage yet.

There is a program. The program is not anywhere near completed yet. Two more years of "executive actions". Expect one in the very near future re "(illegal) immigration".
In the meantime, the court in Hilo is right now (Thurdsay at 11AM) hearing the Hanabusa lawsuit to postpone the special election scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, August 15) in two precincts in Puna closed by the storm. Stay tuned.
Update at 2:30PM:

Hawaii judge upholds timing of makeup primary
[excerpt, which says something about Hawaii, the judge (Nakamura, well known for allowing career criminals out in public), the "justice" system, or something]:
The judge's ruling indicated that while the law says the election can be held, people are still trying to recover from damage caused by Tropical Storm Iselle.
"If you take a popular poll now, the poll would indicate that there's a lack of common sense to hold the election tomorrow," he said.
-
It is disgusting to see these two losers trying to bribe and coerce this primary. Typical democrat tactic, offer "free" stuff to "help" the people, when in the bigger picture, it does not amount to much....

My question is/was, "where were you before the storm????" I thought so. I didn't notice Hanabusa this morning as there were tons of signs and people at the stop sign before the school where the poll was. Tons of Hanabusa signs but didn't notice if she was actually there. After I voted, I was heading to work and there he was, Schatz himself on the side of the road in the rain!
As a note, the school where the polling was taking place is kind of in between the two precincts. So residents of 04/01 come from one direction and residents from 04/02 come form the opposite direction. There is only one road and the school is on that road. So when you approach it, you only see one candidate's supporters depending on which direction you are coming from.
-
Schatz has a twin. He could appear on both sides of the road if he wanted to.
-
Looks like Schatz won.
Whatever else it may be this will be interesting to watch. No one can replace Big Dan. And I know from folks I work with in D.C. that the vultures are already gorging themselves on bits of the monolithic political machine he assembled over the years. Schatz's win might (and I stress ~might~) indicate that attempts to hold most of that machine together will not work - which is typical in DC, anyway.. By 2016 it will probably be too late even if he gets voted out - the machine will be gone, the money under the influence of other people with more clout. Hanabusa couldn't have stopped that from happening but she might have slowed it some, sucking just a little longer at the teat of "more of the same" that has been the norm in Hawaii's politics for a looooong time - for better and worse. That was partly, probably largely, Big Dan's influence.
That's HUGE in terms of Hawaii politics. If the old guard is truly getting rotated out then that opens the possibility of something... new. It'll still take a while but it ~might~ mean openings for other things about Hawaii laws to change.
In any direction. So whatever else it may be this will be quite interesting to watch.
