Title: Pursuing dual citizenship... any implications for 2A rights?
Post by: Tom_G on August 20, 2014, 02:51:56 PM
If a natural-born US citizen has ancestry in a European nation, and is eligible for dual citizenship, are there any negative consequences from pursuing that?  I would think the answer is "No," but figure it can't hurt to ask.

It's for a friend of mine... ;)

No, the U.S. Ignores dual citizen ship. Just don't renounce your US citizenship on foreign soil.  You can renounce it on US soil if need be, but it won't mean anything to the US Gov.

I cannot think how it would affect anything. Hawaii law does make difference between citizens and non citizens when it comes to firearm ownership but it doesn't care where else you are citizen.
