I heard in person that I shouldn't buy once fired for my bolt rifle which is a Remington 700. At the time I didn't ask why but I read that when fired, the brass forms in that specific chamber. Wouldn't using a full size resizer die solve that so I can use it in my rifle or would it be more like you can do that but it's not recommended? It's much cheaper to buy it used or get it free from friends.

You can use once fired.
1. It needs to be good quality brass. Inspect all cases thouroughly before reloading. Federal is said to be soft and not good for reloading many times.
2. You need to be sure it is "once fired" Some may push it as once fired, but you never know.
3. You need to full length size and trim the brass to SAAMI specs. It should fit in your chamber easily.
First firing will "fire form" the case to your particular chamber size. After the first firing you can then neck size, bump size, or what ever..... Make sure you rework up to your loads in the new brass (different brands of brass have different volume), and check for pressure signs and case problems.

Awesome. Really appreciate the answer. To be on the safe side I'll just get them from my friends. Thanks.

Make sure you are checking each and every case when you reload it. Remington chambers are spacious, and if you work the brass too much they get work hardened, thus cases wont last too long. Use minimum sizing that is practical for your fireformed cases. Case head seperation sucks.
