I'm in the market for a reasonably priced bolt action .22 ($400-$600) but have no idea as to what brand. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for all of your help.

I have a savage bolt action .22. For the price it is very accurate and the trigger is pretty nice(with the ammo is likes which is wolf match target or sk). The magazine and feeding sucks, though. I usually single feed it anyway, with a single shot adapter.
For more money, the CZ s are awesome. The trigger on these can be stiff with not much choices on alternates.
I did an aftermarket stock and added the option for some iron sights.

Cant go wrong with a cz 452. I have a ultra lux with peep sights 2 lb triigger pull, free float barrel and just started to polish the bolt body.
or the newer cz 455 u can swap the barrel or a lilja or soon a fj federson. Both guns shoot very very good if the shooter does thier part

Occasionally the CMP has some really great surplus rimfires i.e. Winchester 52Ds and Remington 40Xs.
I was fortunate to get a heavy barrel 40X for $400 + $40 shipping to my front door. It is worth more now and shoots as if it was more.

Sights were about $100 more and since I am not as talented as some people who can shoot without sights - I bought a set of Olympics. I love to shoot this in prone

I have a CZ455 and it shoots awesome. 1" groups at 100 yards with good ammo. Also I also have a Charles Daly Superior II which shoots just as good. Both have cold hammer forged barrels.

I have 2 Cooper .22s and they both really look good and shoot awesome. Sorry not reasonably priced though as you're paying for the craftsmanship.

Thank you all for the recommendations. Now I'm even more confused with all the great choices.

Ruger American

My bolt action .22 is a Marlin 981T very accurate

I have a Ruger American Rimfire too. Fun gun to shoot and if I remember correctly it was about $275 from SEC back in December.

I'm a .22 fanatic. If you are looking new I would recommend the CZ and I would seriously research the new Ruger American. All the articles I have read about the Ruger American have been wildly positive. Especially the accuracy. If you are looking used I would again look for a CZ or even an Anschutz. I have a friend who recently got a great deal on a good used Anschutz on Gun Broker. I love my Anschutz 64. The only .22 I have that is more accurate is my highly modified Kidd Ruger 10/22.

Thank you all for your responses! I knew I could count on the vast knowledge of the 2ahawaii members to point me in the right direction. I took your advise and bought a Ruger American. They had one over at sports authority which came out to $273. Fit and finish on the gun is excellent and I cannot wait to get it to the range. Again thank you all for your help. Aloha.

Best thing about the american it uses 10/22 mags. If u get bored polish the action/ bolt. Gun scopes up very well too but im a iron sight guy even though im blind as a bat.
good choice in a ruger rimfire

I've been wanting Savage Mark II as well. Have just been putting it off. If I get the gun, then I'll have to get a scope, then I'll have to get... You know how this goes. Haha

Did polishing the bolt/action help? If so, what was your method and tools? Thanks.

Its just smooths out the bolt movement to make it smoother. Look up polishing a bolt or jeweling a bolt. I usually do this on most my guns. Makes it look pretty too.

Another vote for a CZ455 if you have the chance. Just picked one up and it is a great shooter. My newest favorite .22 bolt.
