Title: Registration Question re: expired permit
Post by: luxurysport on September 21, 2014, 08:29:18 AM
I have a number of "receiver only" registered stripped lowers.  My permit has expired.

1- do I need to complete registration when I finish my build?
2- do I need to re-apply for another permit to complete registration?

If I am not actually acquiring anything more.  Thoughts?

If the lowers are already registered you shouldn't have to do anything.

Just finish your build and shoot em' up!

To elaborate on what Ed said,  sometimes you will hear from people on the forum and even some FFL's that you have to "re-register" once you complete your build so HPD can record the barrel length. No such requirement in the HRS-134. If you complete a build and then sell the complete rifle, it would be up to the new owner to decide whether or not he/she wants to register the stripped lower or the complete build so HPD would have the barrel length annotated.

again there is no need to re register them .
however HPD does want to know the barrel length once its built, don't have too as it's not required by law.
