Wow.
I feel bad for the folks on the b.i.
It's like a double tap.

Yikes, check out the storm track national weather website. Live in a flood zone so gotta keep a eye out for storms and heavy rain.
Ana's storm track may reach islands from the south with possible hurricane strenght for Oahu on Sunday.

Gas lines were a bit long early this morning when I passed by the Safeway gas station in Hilo. A guy told me today that Target was already out of bottled water, probably because it was on sale. Seems like a lot of people are waiting to see what the storm will be doing later this week. I suspect that the panic buying and hoarding will begin by early Friday. I'm good on provisions like gas, water, and food. Will probably wait until Friday to see how strong it is, and which way it's headed so I know whether to board up or not.

Spent all afternoon getting my damn generator to start.  Now that I have gotten it purring away for two hours, i see the storm tract shifting further south, away from us all!

Bow down to my version of the rain dance.... :worship:

You know what would have happened if I did not fix the generator!

Frigging Hawaiian ethanol gas.  Was water in the gas far as I could tell.  Had Sta-Bil in it, but apparently that does not work so well for ethanol gas.  Tearing the carburetor apart and blowing out all the jets with thorough drying did the trick.  Started first pull, after more than sixty pulls over two days.

Lots of 76 gas stations now carry ethanol free precisely for this reason; lots of fishermen and landscapers were tired of their equipment getting wrecked, so gas stations started carrying ethanol free.
Got an ex-Chevron/Aloha north at the Honkohau harbor entrance that has ethanol free.

Last few times I was in there to scope it out, was a zoo  of boats on trailers, could not see which pumps had the good stuff.

Looks like I won't even get some water for my yard.

Sorry oldfart, maybe next time.

Puna was getting some heavy rains earlier this morning.

Hilo is raining pretty good right now.

Ana has intensified into a weak Category 1 hurricane and remains on a forecast track south of the islands.

A Tropical Storm watch is now in effect for the entire state.
