Wow. What a nice, thorough set of tests! Sad to see my two go-to products (Hoppes #9 and Brake-Free CLP) rank in the bottom of every test. Looks like I may have to investigate this Frog Lube stuff...

I'm surprised how well WD40 did.

I'm surprised how well WD40 did.
After tearing down an old airgun that had the trigger bits lubed with WD40 that had congealed into a glue, never again on anything but garden tools.
Never heard of this "Specialist" version, will have to keep an eye out for it. Sounds like it is far better than the old stuff. I would say the old stuff was fine for short term use, but not storage as it did change properties over a year or more. Of course, storage for that long should be done with other than just a good oiling.
Which reminds me, overdue to pull all the guns out and give them some TLC.

I found the wd40 specialist at Walmart for $ 6.52
For 11 oz spray.
Got 2 cans. Gonna test it out.

Good to know in case Lowes does not carry it. Never ventured into the local Walmart here.
Those "People of Walmart" videos and pics have scarred me.
Too CS. maybe send the wife.......the sight of a 300lb'er in spandex might stop my heart.

The dude forgot to include cosmoline!
In all seriousness, I wish Inox was included in the test. Touted to be environmentally safe and works well against sea salt water. Fishermen swear by it and spray their tackle/gear with the stuff. Apparently, it is lanolin based and is food grade although I wouldn't recommend spraying it on your rice unless you suffer from persistent constipation.
I picked up a can from Ace Hardware on Kaimuki Avenue just to try it and have been using it as a preservative on my firearms. So far so good.
