Title: Moving a Safe
Post by: Inspector on November 03, 2014, 05:40:16 PM
I have out grown my two gun cabinets. I need to buy a safe. A fairly large one. I am too old and beat up to move something this big and heavy. And all of my friends are just as old and hurting as I am. Is there any local company that will sell and deliver a safe? If I buy one used or from a big box store is there a company willing to pick up and deliver it for me? It will have to go up 8 stairs. I have measured everything and I believe it will be fairly straight forward getting it into place. Except going up the stairs. Has anyone had one delivered? Who did you buy it from and who delivered it?

So far I have not shopped for one yet as I am just trying to wrap my head around the size I need. Any information is much appreciated.

Whoa never really thought of a modular gun safe before. Neat idea. Google-fu says they're pretty good and start at about $1400.

There is a waiting list for zonatti's , usually 3-6 month.
they build to order.

Pretty cool concept. I wonder if there is a dealer here?

they do not have distributors anywhere.
you deal with the factory directly, they process your order and build to your specification, one safe at a time. that's why there is a long waiting list.

Sports authority Black Friday sale. 24 gun Stack On safe $459. Pick up one last year. Sold out in the first hour. I have a truck and willing to help. With a few guys I'm sure we can get it up the stairs.

I ordered a mesa safe from Home Depot and I am having it delivered today.  As long as it can get to a California store we can have items shipped to Honolulu for free.  I was going to pick it up, but for $79 to deliver (island movers) I don't have to figure out how to get a 900lbs safe off my truck.

Fyi:  ordering a safe from the mainland took 1 month to arrive.

S&S Delivery.. piano movers.  Very reliable and can get scheduling.  Piano movers have much more experience at moving safes.  I bought my American Security 45min FR safe through Aloha Key and they always recommend piano movers.

Have you checked out the Monster Vaults that go under your bed, I believe Sikryd was bringing them in. I had a chance to see them in a store in Las Vegas and they didn't look that bad.. Was a lot lighter then my safe and if you can anchor them down even better

If you need a place to hide your wife after tying her up, under the bed is the first place the authorities will look!

Wait.... what?   ;)
