I literally JUST make the cut.

Wouldn't matter though; a quick 10-15 min hike and I'm on the top of the Ko'olau Mountain Range

The BIG iSLAND DRIFT IS THE ONE YOU REALLY GOT TO WORRY ABOUT.
8-10 minutes from fault failure to OaHU IMPACT  :shake:

Don't even need to look at any map to tell me I'm screwed. When I pee in the morning I watch paddle boarders float pass my bathroom window. Close enough I can literally get a surf report. And when I sit on my couch in my living room I see the boats float by from the harbor.

Yeah, well, tomorrow has not been recorded yet, either!

But, you know it is coming............

My biggest worry is being in Waikiki during the holiday season around 4-7PM.  If a tsunami comes, and I'm stuck in holiday shopping & party traffic in that low-lying beachfront area, it won't be pretty.

My home is near Schofield, so I'm not worried if I happen to be home.  Unfortunately, I do have to work in Honolulu now and then, not to mention attend social events and pick up essentials from OGC!   :D

Not sure how that helps me?

I order online as many things on my Christmas list as I can.  I still have to work and attend parties (and stop by OGC)!!

Well somebody has spooked C&C to come out with this.  Wonder if this affects flood insurance rates.  Even though my home is green, it's unrated so they still stick it to me.  Thinking of cancelling this year.

tax rate on beach front home just went from $3,300.00 per year to $6,700.00 per year. :shake:
Don't know if that's relative or we need more money for rail

Tsunami hazard and flood hazard are 2 different beasts.  The flood insurance is related to FEMA flood maps, where inland areas sometimes show Flood Zone D, areas with undetermined risk.  In most cases, it may be obvious you're not at a high risk, but i would make sure first!

I'm no insurance expert but FEMA Flood insurance is supposed to cover flooding from a tsunami but I might have missed some fine print.  Yes I live in a Zone D area and not required by my mortgage to have flood insurance.   I always laugh when that flood insurance commercial says rates as low as hundred something a year.  Where is this mythical safe zone?   Since it only covers the structure and not contents, feel like I'm throwing away $1800 a year.  Could be buying that $1800 optic (joke).
