Being a fat person one of the only comfortable way to cc would be in the front pocket. What pistol would you use and why.
-
I tried a S&W Shield and a Ruger SP101, very uncomfortable and difficult to get out of the pocket. I wouldn't be able to carry in my front pocket, , , Pants right?

Fanny pack?
Check DTOM fanny packs on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dtom+fanny+pack&sprefix=dtom+fanny+%2Caps%2C1317 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dtom+fanny+pack&sprefix=dtom+fanny+%2Caps%2C1317)
I have the large size. It can fit my full size 1911 or my CZ75b no problem. Plenty room for wallet keys and phone too.
If you are gonna sport a pocket pistol the medium would probably work great! (or the small size)
you know, for around the house.
Don't forget the click through....

most of those fanny packs scream "GUN!"
the law enforcement fanny pack one is the lowest profile
i have a version just like that, it may be 5.11
but it's just hanging in my closet, and may or may not have a pistol in it
so many people carry around tactical man purses now, you could carry one in those easily
talula could just keep it in his mailbag
he has to be careful if he is pocket carrying and giving people hugs

Pocket pistols are going to be various sizes, mostly dictated by the caliber you pick.
For pocket-size, I like my Glock 42 .380. I also have a derringer revolver that's a .22LR 5-shot. I have a leather holster for it, but I also have a hinged grip/holster I like better for the larger grip.
I have the S&W M&P shield 9mm, but can't see that being pocket carried unless it's in a jacket or vest.
From experience, the pocket size guns will be more difficult to shoot. Small grip, usually with no room on the grip for the pinky, short barrel, muzzle flip tough to manage ...
The G42, to me at least, is a great compromise between size and ease of use. I added a pinky extension to the mags that doesn't make the gun that much harder to conceal. I left the extension off one mag just in case I found a situation where it needed to be smaller. The length and overall size is slightly larger than some comparable pistols, which to me is a plus. The larger size along with the less peppy .380 vs. 9mm makes the G42 a very good shooter for being so small. I can land all 5 rounds in one mag on paper with an 8" target at 25 yards, For a pistol that's designed for short-distance engagements, that's actually pretty good accuracy.
If you aren't adverse to off-body carry, Maxpedition has many products with Concealed Carry pockets and features. You can also go to sites like the NRA store and check out the leather planner they have with a CC section that locks.

For pocket carry, flat is the key to comfortable.
The Glock 42 is a great choice due to its size and weight.
It pretty much disappears in your pocket, as long as it's in a good holster.
You can also use an. IWB holster at 4 o'clock and it's very comfortable and conceals well under a regular T-shirt.
If you choose to go that route, the Sig Sauer P290 is a phenomenal pistol for that role. Extremely accurate and fires the more potent (than .380) 9mm round.

This is still new and no reviews yet but I'm interested in the Tarus Curve as a pocket gun.

If it really has to go in my pocket, I like the Ruger LCR in 22LR.
I only shot it once but the darn thing is so easy to shoot accurately, yet small and easy to fit anywhere.

While on the mainland, I tried my sisters CCW, a LC 9MM.
Small, light 9mm and acceptable for close quarters.
Her hubby, a larger guy likes to carry the SIG SAUER P238 .380 as it fits and draws well from his pocket holster.
IMHO, both were fine at close range, and easy to use

LCR with Elite pocket holster looks and feels like you're carrying your wallet in your pocket.

I have a pocket holster with a sig 938, and pocket holster with an SP101. both comfortable in cargo shorts with deeper pockets.
PM me if you ever want to try it out.
-
I would carry a Springfield XDS in 45acp. It definitely fits in the pocket and is quite thin and compact (3.3 inch barrel). And with 5+1 of 45 goodness, it can stop almost anything. Striker fired, compact and powerful. What's not to like?
-
PPK
The more things change, the more they remain the same. And I can put a whole magazine from mine (S&W made) into 4" at 25 yds.
-
For me (at 5'9", 150lbs), the biggest thing I can pocket-carry is my Ruger LC9. If I were doing it every day, I would get something smaller and lighter, probably a LCP.

Having read this entire thread and carefully considering the matter I've come to this conclusion: The answer isn't smaller guns. We need bigger pockets.
Full frame 1911, with 10 round mags. ;)
-
I wanted a PPK but it was pricey and out of stock.
I went with the S&W Shield in 9mm.
Fits nice in the hand.
(I know Mac.....that's what she said :D )
Fits pretty comfortably in the side cargo pocket of my shorts but not a front pocket gun.
Very thin which is key as KK mentioned.

Miss seeing you at the GTG's a'hound.

I keep seeing those "Sneaky Pete" holsters in American Rifleman. Sort of look like a phone case or such. Obviously need a very thin gun to work, a Glock need not apply.
What i like is you can slip it on with whatever you are wearing, no pocket issues. Wonder though if they are already a known spot to ID for sidearm carry by those looking.
-
I would use my S&W 642. It may only hold 5, but I have no issues controlling a .38 special +p out of it.

They do make these for several Glocks ...

I think the majority of anti-gun ranters who don't know enough about any gun topics would be fooled by this completely. Unless they or someone they know has one, the closest they would come to finding out is to ask what kind of smartphone you have so they can brag about their new iPhone!
CON: Go to the website and see how much of the pistol is covered by the holster. It covers the end of the grip and 2/3 or more of the trigger area. That gives little room for a solid purchase if you have to draw quickly.
Maybe as an "occasional" holster when nothing else works would be okay. But I wouldn't use this as an everyday carry holster.
-
Look at some reviews on those sneaky petes, they are HUGE. looks akward to me. JMHO

I hear you. Might work for a little Baby Browning .25ACP, but heck, if I had such a thing, why would I need a holster?

After reading through some of these posts on ingunowners.com, the only thing I can say about Sneaky Pete Holsters is: CAVEAT EMPTOR
Also, since this thread was predicated on a "fat boy" not having many options for CC, I thought this would be appropriate:

I will back at the GTG's. Just had stuff to do or was out of town the last 2.
I'm bummed I didn't make them. Heard Heavies even made it to one of the recent ones.
