Black Friday Sales Were Down From Last Year, But The Sale Of One Particular Item Boomed
While Black Friday sales were down this year and smaller crowds shopped for good deals on the usual items — smart phones,
high-definition TVs, video game consoles, etc. — the sale of one particular item shot through the roof: guns.
According to the FBI, the federal background check system processed more than 175,000 background checks — an average
of three per second.
It was the highest number of background checks ever for a Black Friday, and second highest in history. The highest
day on record is December 21, 2012, with 177,000 checks.

I'm sure the "Obama Riots" in Ferguson helped with sales.
