I wasn't sure I believed it, but you can youtube it and find a video of a guy shooting this thing. It's about what you'd expect; I'm pretty sure the only purpose of that pistol is to allow you to (somewhat) safely set off a .50 BMG round in your hand.

It's the 1980's, people getting beat up firing big cartridges in handguns without muzzle brakes. This was an experiment to educate shooters how effective a muzzle brake can be on the biggest caliber handgun a law abiding citizen can legally shoot!
This pistol was perceived by me on ACAD. I circulated the drawing among half a dozen gunsmiths that provided additional ideas, parts, and materials. The cost of the parts and materials were under $300.00.
It is within the span of a week, a hundred hours culminated in it, and the use of the machines necessary that I transformed the pieces, according to one article, in the ".50 BMG Behemoth Mother of all Pistols!"

i've shot it before, and the gun is actually not that bad to shoot. there's an interesting way to load it though. lol. i wouldn't be surprised if Nitrox has an account on here.
he manufactured a 50 bmg rifle which i got to shoot last year. i was afraid to shoot it because of an old shoulder injury. but when i did, recoil was actually very nice. he's super smart and very methodical. sometimes i think of him as the "mad scientist." he's got so many projects going on.

I don't remember that model, exactly, but I DO remember a time when I'd pass up most of the toy guns in the aisle because they weren't realistic. Broke the first gun I got that had an orange POS piece of plastic on the muzzle trying to pry it off with a screwdriver! Got better at it after that... >:D What's the point of playing cops and robbers if you can't have a real-looking gun?? lol

I know what you mean.. Back in the day I road my bike all over Ewa Beach with my pellet gun strapped to my back. No one gave a second look. We used to go hunting, fishing, swimming. Uncle's used to go shotgunning for quail and doves in the back woods. Ewa Beach has sure changed, it's an over crowded city these days.
