I was one of those who started back in the bulletin board thread days back in the mid 90's and was involved in many forums in the past years. I am big into cars (mustangs), 4x4's and bikes (street and dirt) and used to interact heavily on some of the big name mustang boards and other motorsports forums. I have been on LE and firearm related boards for a long long time also. I have helped to develop, moderated, been staff, etc, but when you get married, have kids and career develops you find less time and I gave up the moderating and Staff stuff altogether and I don' really visit forums with any frequency anymore. I visit this forum about as much as I frequent any forum now.
Screen names have all included my current user name. For firearms related I have been around the following, but not all at the same time;
glocktalk (no longer visit)
The Highroad (no longer visit)
Officer.com (no longer visit)
Sigforums (no longer visit)
lightfighter.net (rare visit)
ar15.com (long time member, occasional visit)
socnet (long time member, vetted AP member, occasional visit)
m4carbine.net (long time member, vetted Industry Professional member, less frequent as before)
pistol-training.com (vetted Subject Matter Expert member, occasional visit)
So 2ahawaii is about as frequent as I visit any site and I visit about 3 on occasion right now.

brianenos.com has a wealth of info regarding USPSA topics (go to the forums section). The reloading section is excellent and contains up to date and accurate info for both new and experienced hand loaders, especially for those looking for guidance with competition and general load data.

If so, is it worth signing up?

Don't really visit many other boards lately.
Same screen name on
The Highroad
Accurateshooter
Snipershide
American Longrifles
I've been most active on Accurateshooter.com in the past, but haven't visited in a while. I just joined Americanlongrifles.com, learned a lot about blackpowder flintlock rifles.
I have had other interests, (surfing, Harleys, café racers, lowriders, hotrods..) but haven't really joined any particular boards on those subjects. Mostly lurked around to learn about stuff that I wanted to do. I've built choppers, lowriders, hotrods, and currently getting back into longboarding... I have a half built café in my garage, but it hasn't been worked on for about a year... lol. Even the shooting has been limited lately.

..
Longboarding? As in surfing or big skateboard?
For myself, I have not been shooting much either.
Work gets in the way. Home renovations take up a lot of time.
I despise painting.
So then......Anybody here join 1911forum.com?

Only other board I joined before was Hawaii Fishing Forums, can't remember screen name .
I visit TBY2K, Tree of Liberty, Bowlingchat.net, Bowling Community.com and BowlingBoards.com on a regular basis. Firearms related is AR-15.com and Marlinowners pretty regularly but not daily.

We used to have those matches here.

Back when I lived in Vegas and electricity was cheap, I was involved in folding.stanford.edu. Its kinda like SETI but works to cure diseases. I tweaked my computer to run 100% for 24 hours per day. I went through three PSU. It cost me about $50 in electricity per day. Stopped when I moved here because it would be $200 instead. I also visit thefiringline.com, theakforum.net, and forums.gunboards.com.

For gun forums:
all same screen name as here, or without the 1000
ar15.com (haven't been there in years)
m4c (used to be active before, but not anymore. still read occasionally if I'm looking for specific feedback, but not often)
ar15armory (used to be staff there, but a bunch of us left because of the BS and got banned)
shootersloft (admin there and is where the "good guys" left from ar15armory board and I'm on there daily, but mostly just BSing and occasionally gun talk)
Others that I am member, but rarely posted back then:
1911 Forum
M1911
Shooting Australia (a friend was admin on the board, so I checked it out)
Sniper Central
Sniper's Hide
Weapon Evolution
Was on a few car forums when my car was newer. Not anymore though.
Pretty much most of my time here nowadays.

Do you folks talk about diving and golf on said kona forum? Two of the things I enjoy about Kona.

We used to talk about diving and golf. The forum is dying out due to Google. Google changed their ranking methods/factors over the last 10 years and slowly but surely the forum went from first page to where ever it is now. And I have not been able to recover from it. The forum was quite popular at one time, but not now.

Gotcha.
And sadly golf and scuba diving are two things that I don't do much anymore. Wish I had more time and $$$ for those.

Dave, hopefully it does not have the same amount of clowns that post on another forum based around Puna. I don't post at that site, but read often as it is more relevant to my area. We do get to Kona from time to time, mostly to get a hot dog and other things from Costco, but were gonna stay a few days in Waikoloa towards the end of summer. Kona sure has grown up over the past 20 years. Well heck so has Hilo for that matter. ;)

Nope. I have kicked off all of those that act like that. All that is left sadly is a few of us who all are friendly. Some of us have moved away from Hawaii but still come around on the forum to stay in touch while some were tourists that never lost that passion for Kona.
I lived Hilo side in the Puna District for a couple of years. I loved every minute of it. Drove to Kona every month to shop at Costco and Wally World. Then we would stop somewhere along the coast and get an ice shave and enjoy the sun and the waves for a while. That was some of the best days in my lifetime.

For gun forums and auction sites, I pretty much use the same or a similar name. Though the last time I been anywhere else was 7 years ago. I'll be lucky if I can remember my login. On most sites I was just a lurker reading about guns and how to shoot.
For other sites I use a different name, which I keep secret to make it harder for the government to spy on me. I don't have many different names that I use, but I tend to use the same kind of name for the same kind of site. Like if I was a member of the aforementioned pornhub my name would probably be something like Porny Hubby.

Bowling balls are dangerous objects and need respect. Pretty soon I'll have to get a permit to acquire and register at HPD. Good thing I got a lot of legal unregistered balls. Solid reactive coverstocks with assymetrical cores will probably be called assault balls. ::)
