I'm to the point where I will only buy guns in calibers I already stock. No room to add another stash!
-
.22, 9mm, .40, 7.62x39 & 12g. I regret getting involved with 9mm stuff. I spent too much on it for "practice". Now I practice with .22 and the 9mm ammo is there "just in case".
-
I'm definitely keeping my schtick simple.

I'm pretty sure that's all I'll ever get. Oh plus shotgun, once I get to that point.

As I was putting magazines in safe #2 I saw 8 boxes of 7.62x54r, so let me add that to the list.

I'm still deciding between a converting a saiga sporter or just picking up a sks with my c&r.
-
I've got a converted Saiga that I've modified.
It looks fantabulous.
I'll post pics soon.
You're welcome to come shoot it with me, if you need further temptation.
-
Yeah definitely. That would be epic. Work has been taking over my life for the past couple months but hopefully i'll get a couple days off here soon.

If you convert it yourself is there much $ to be saved over buying an arsenal saiga?

If you do the whole 922r compliance conversion than the Arsenal is probably more worth it...
Of course there's always that satisfaction of doing it yourself which is priceless...
If you just move the trigger forward and convert it to a pistol config it's cheaper....but it wont be compliant..... ::)

You will not regret getting a Ruger 10/22. Drop in a Kidd trigger & bolt buffer and you are set!
-
I'm kinda unimpressed with my 10/22 O_o. I've had it for two years or so.

You should come over to the dark side and try a Marlin Model 60 or a 795. Much more accurate than a 10/22 out of the box. Not as many mods available for it as the 10/22. And the trigger is a little heavy. But put a cheap scope on it and buy a inexpensive box of CCI Blazers and there is nothing you can't hit out to 75yds. and farther. And the best thing is they are much cheaper than the 10/22!

A golf ball with a 15 mph crosswind . . . :D

This is a pic of the grouping shot a year and a half ago at Kokohead at 50yds. The shot in the upper right is not a part of this grouping. This is a group of 5 with one flyer a little low and to the right. The gun is bone stock with a cheap .22 scope on it using loose packed CCI Blazers.

Pretty good for a cheap semi-auto.

Not really.
The best way to find what type of ammo your particular guns "like" is to try a bunch of them.
Smart.
-
.22lr (I just checked and I have 15 different types of .22lr ammunition. Crazy huh?)
I spent years.
YEARS.
Trying different .22 ammo, with the goal of finding a single type that would function in all of my semi-autos reliably AND group in all of by guns decently. I finally landed on CCI standard velocity. But that was after shooting bricks and bricks of at least 20 different brands.
Now they're all sighted in for CCI std. I still keep other .22 ammo on hand, for helping folks with their new .22s, but for me, if it doesn't love CCI std, it's not a gun I'll be keeping.
