Decided to make another press. This time it will be a turret design based on the Herral version. Instead of steel or aluminum I decided to use solid 304 stainless steel, this will give it a high shine and added weight. However, raw SS is expensive at about $12 a pound. The turret will be solid aluminum. Just waiting for CNC time and cash for the materials.
A few relatives of mine has some interest, so I be making several. Since making 1 or 10 on a CNC is about the same price.

:o
I think you need to shop around. That's about two to three times the going rate around here (Oahu).

thanks for the heads up. It might be cheaper to order online than buy local.
I used 0.3lbs per cubic inch for SS
4"x1.5"x1.5"= 2.7lb about $8.50/lb plus shipping
from www online metals.

If you could make a retrofit for RockChuckers with a hollow ram for spent primers to pass through you might have yourself a popular item! :thumbsup:

Oh yeah, when you buy a small piece of material it's the cutting charge that jacks up the price per pound. The full length or full sheet price can be three or four dollars per pound, but if you only need a small piece you have to pay a premium. :( We also buy from Online Metals.

I'll be in Hawaii next week, let me see what we an do about the RCBS press. I'll need to see a rock chucked if anyone has a sample and what exactly needs done.

Sold my Rockchucker to get the Lee Classic Cast for that reason! There seems to be a market as that is the most popular complaint about the RCs.
