I occasionally run into forum threads about someone on the mainland finding a good deal on a firearm at a local pawn shop. Since we've got a few pawn shops here in Hawaii, I'm wondering whether any of these shops carry and sell used firearms. Has anyone checked them out?

I don't think I've seen any pawn shops in Hawaii with an FFL

Some States such as PENN do not allow firearms to be pawned.
Pawn by definition is a security for a loan. Which is why some states banned it. It also requires a different FFL. Normal shops are FFL1 pawn shop are FFL2.

I made the mistake of asking a pawn shop about firearms.
The guy behind the counter looked at me like I was from Mars.
After explaining that I hadn't lived here that long (this was a few years ago) the whole FFL thing came out.

In Hawaii you can't get a ffl for a pawn shop. Its the state. My mom had a pawn shop and I inquired.

No guns at the pawn shops mean that I don't visit them very often.

Stupid law. That's like making it illegal to sell food at 7eleven.
