Title: Long Gun Restriction in Hawaii
Post by: nsainfreek on April 21, 2015, 04:50:46 PM
What are the restrictions for long guns in Hawaii? I am trying to purchase a Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary edition on Gallery of Guns but it states that it cannot be sold to my area due to restrictions. The only difference I can see between the 50th anniversary and a regular 10/22 is the 25 round magazine. I didn't think we had such a restriction here though.

If that magazine can be used in a pistol it would be restricted. Silly, I know, welcome to Hawaii.

The bx25 mag is the issue.  Since ruger sells a charger 10/22 pistol which takes any 10/22 mags including the bx 25 or the black dog drum mag it can fall into the assult pistol category.   Also if I recall right a few chargers made it into hawaii before hpd caught on.

Yeah, I bought one and had to sell it.

Stupid law.

That gun is not restricted in Hawaii.

Instead of going to gallery of guns, go to X-ring or OGC and have them order it for you.

It will probably be the same price without some ignorant (to Hawaii's weird laws) person telling you it's restricted.
