Title: Revolver grips
Post by: passivekinetic on May 13, 2015, 02:15:57 PM
Hi guys (and gals?),

I don't know too much about revolvers.

Thinking about getting a .357. Thinking of S&W.

I just noticed that some revolvers have grips with a notch for the thumb. This seems to appeal to me. (Not for looks, but for good grip).

Are grips "easily" interchangeable? Or do I have to get a revolver with the specific handle that I am looking for?

for smith and Wesson it depends on the frame size and what style grip you have round or square for replacement grips

in general revolver grips are easy to change.

but what kind of grips are available depends on the model of the revolver.
depending on the model, could have a lot of after market grips for the gun.
what model S&W?

Dunno model...

Recommendations?

No need snubby. I want longer range precision target shooting. Sorta.

Just randomly, I had considered a S&W 686.

.357

Good choice.

There's a lot of Ruger guys on here so this will irk some people...
But the easiest way to fix a Ruger double action trigger is to buy a Smith and Wesson.

And grips are a very personal choice. Easy to change though.

The biggest problem with revolvers, is you probably won't stop at one!

It's no different than any other firearm design.

You need more than one to make sure you're not missing out on something better!   :D
