When I have a student who is unable to "rack the slide" I use many of the same techniques and have been mostly successful. Good stuff to know if you are trying to get your significant other into firearms.

In my experience, there are two things that will discourage a woman from wanting to continue shooting. One is making her use too big a gun too early. The other is frustration at not being able to rack the slide.
