Title: Zero rescues on Koko head trail in may

Fire dept reports at the Hawaii Kai neighborhood board meeting that during this month, there were not any rescues on the trail in May!

Not sure what's worse - the helo fiasco or the quality of the copy (writing).

Here is what I heard, from a source I deem credible. Both HFD helicopters are down due to major structural corrosion. Due to lack of proper inspection, maintenance and repair by "company A" now the HFD has "company B" there fixing them. HFD hires contracts companies to maintain their aircraft for them.

WOW! WTF?? Major structural corrosion? Isn't this something that should've been uncovered in it's early stages during an annual? Corrosion is an ongoing battle in any aircraft, especially when it's surrounded by salty air 24/7. This speaks of major negligence on the part of the maintenance company as it would take years for it to reach the point of rendering the aircraft unsafe to fly.
Since HFD is using HPD's 500's, do we know if HPD's aircraft were being maintained by the same bozo's?
The city should be preparing to sue this company into the dirt, people could've been killed.
