The final assault on the 2nd amendment from this regime has started; it is not getting any better for gun owners. What can I do besides bemoan the politicos' assaults?

I honestly believe that if you own a gun you should join the NRA.
No gun rights group wields as much political influence than the NRA.

I hate the incessant calls from the NRA asking for more and more money. If you don't answer, they call back every day until you do. When I started getting calls at 7am on weekends, I had enough. I explained my membership fees was all I could do and not to call me. They didn't listen and continued to call.
I disagree that it's all about membership numbers. If that was true, they would spend their efforts getting new members, not trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of existing members. It comes down to total money raised, not membership numbers.

It's not just about numbers, although that is a big piece. It's also about money. Like it or not, politics is about money. Local politics is the same. It's the old axiom, politics is like sausage making. You really don't want to watch it being made....

I am a life member. When the people call to extend my membership I tell them I am a life member. And they apologize and say they are not given that information since they just do marketing for the NRA. They then hang up. After a couple of times they have stopped calling me. So next time they call you and you are not interested in extending your membership, tell them you are a life member.
-
I was also getting calls. I answered one and let them give their spiel. I explained that I am a life member, I donate what I can, when I can, I explained that I am down with the cause till the end, I appreciated the efforts of the lady who called for what she was doing for our gun rights, and I would appreciate not being called for more donations, as I already do what I can. The calls have stopped.
Also one needs to watch for scammers claiming to be NRA... They are out there.
-
I always wanted to be a life member and finally had the chance when the membership cost was offered to me at a considerable discount. I donate what I can and I don't mind the solicitation mail. The calls stopped when I did mention I am a life member. I wouldn't mind becoming a Benefactor member in the future.

For mere pocket change, $ 0.095890 a day or $ 0.67123 per week or $ 35.00 per year you too can be a member. It is even less expensive ($ 25.00 year) if you catch a deal like the one posted.
We need the mass numbers for politicians to listen. Unfortunately, Hawaii especially has need as our national legislators are on board the dis-arm the peeps train.

I got one call from them and then when they finished their schpell I told them that ah no matter how much they try to raise money nothing will change. That the only real change will come when push goes to far and then a revolution is upon us. He asks if I want a revolution and I say no I want peace and to not be bothered by stupidity but when push comes to shove I will be ready. Haven't gotten a call since and love it. Hahha
I am a NRA member though hate the constant mailings and until then the calls.

What do members think about the new Easy Pay Life membership offer which is $500? Pay initial $25 then they bill you $25 every quarter till paid up. Good deal? Guess the $300 fee if referred by an existing Life member is long gone.
I'm thinking of signing up for this since I've only been an annual member. Could be better but NRA has the voice in congress. With this recent SC incident can bet that BHO will try new EO's or convince blue states to enact more gun control (while relaxing drug laws so that more crazies can be on the street).

It is a good deal. You are permanently on the membership roll.
One more pro-gun voter on the board.

Alright, will mail in that app tomorrow. Thanks mama and maui.

I just upped my membership to an Endowment Life for $250. Thanks Obama!
-
Thank you for taking action.
It would be a huge political force if just half of the gun owners in Hawaii joined the NRA and the HRA.
Look into the GOA also. They are very quick with national legislative warnings and usually have a letter written for submission to the congress peeps.
The great part is you can fill out your info and click the mouse a few times and the email is sent. Mazie, Tulsi and Shitz get the letters. Of course you get their ever present polito bable back.
It is unfortunate that the only reps we've got are on the zeig heil train.

Consider also joining other Pro-2A groups as well. There is no discrimination to join and help the cause throughout the USA :) Calguns and the New York State Rifle & Pistol Assoc. are good ones for example.

I would ask that you consider joining HRA as well.

I agree totally; even if you cannot afford membership get on their email alert lists and sign every free petition that comes through. Call your reps. get involved.
I fear that these last days of the Barry Soetoro/ Barack Obama/Valerie Jarret (or whatever his name is) REGIME will be filled with UNCONSTITUTIONAL assaults upon the rights of the people. It has begun with the UN small arms treaty and now the TPP. His regime are undermining this country's sovereignty.

Life Member here. Never got a new card just the one signed up with that day and they wrote "Life" as the (edit) Expiration Date. Oh yeah, and the newsletters.

Take advantage of any deals you find and join the fight to protect your rights.
I paid full pop for Life years ago and it was double that and just the beginning, just like buying a gun then feeding it.
Now a Patron Member and I maintain the annual dues best I can as the NRA is the biggest dog in the fight, even if some say they make missteps along the way there they are still, the oldest civil rights group in the country and much deserving of our support.
If not us then who (loosely paraphrased)

Careful, since you are new here, you may not realize that several 2A Hawaii members admit voting for the turd.
Mustn't offend their messiah or sensitivities................they have other "issues" important to them to explain bizarre voting, I am certain.

I am sorry to hear that.
What possible other issues could have contributed to voting for Whats his name?
Possibly that he was "born" in Hawaii?
Was not a Caucasian?
Bush sucks?
"Free" stuff for the down trodden, forced charity?
(NO such thing as a FREE LUNCH)?
Or was it his vast experience in successful business management?
Any of his other multitude of achievements?
His success in blocking vetting?
His wonderful voting record as a senator?
Complete and utter delusion?
AS mamma used to say- Stupid is as Stupid does. :wtf:

Don't want to see Hawaii on that timeline. Other than joining HRA/NRA, when a pro 2nd rally is scheduled, everyone need to make a big effort to show up. Numbers count. Last time was about 200, next time hope for 1000.
Barry is set on destroying the 2nd. Most world leaders don't believe him especially our allies.
-
Hawaii's national representation leave a lot to be desired.
They vote the party line when it comes to guns; facts mean nothing to them, it is all about controlling the ignorant peons.
Please consider joining the NRA, the HRA and the GOA or at least sign up for updates from all three organizations.

It is, as well as veterans, Christians, folks who believe in the Constitution and heterosexuals, to all those who wish to fundamentally transform this country.

All part of Barry's plan to fundamentally change America. That plus flood the country with Islamic immigrants and illegals, dope up America and prevent Americans from protecting themselves.
