Are you AR-15 owners envious of your AK owning brethren?
Are you looking to add some personality to your AR?
Do you want to use your AR as a legitimate hunting rifle?
Well you are in luck. DPMS is now manufacturing wood furniture kits.

I think that goes against the whole asthetic of the AR15.

So turning sporting rifles into "tacti-cool" guns is ok, but reversing the process goes against aesthetics?
Personally, I applaud this idea. Banning the Evil Black Rifles is such a standard approach... who would want to ban a gun with wooden furniture that is so obviously a sporting tool? It must be far less lethal than the black version!

To each their own I suppose. We could argue in circles about what "attractive" is.
When you think about it a lot of good things are made out of wood. George Washington had wooden teeth. That was a classic look in his day. And it was fine for what it was, because that was the best dentists could do at the time. Then the technology improved and now if he lived in modern times he would have porcelain veneers. Just like the technology for grips and stocks have improved. The new materials guns are made out of is dare I say it, better than wood. They are less prone to warping, mildew, and termites. They have greater tolerances for heat, stress, and pressure. So why would you remove something that works perfectly fine for the sake of asthetics? It seems no different than "tacti-cooling" out a rifle in all black.
