Title: Using Self Address Stamped Envelope
Post by: BigDaddy31 on July 01, 2015, 09:32:56 AM
Has anyone tried to use that method to have the permit mailed back?

According to the HPD website:

As an option, applicants may have their processed permits mailed to them. Applicants need to provide a self-addressed pre-paid envelope, certified restricted-delivery return receipt required(available at the U.S. Post Office) at time of application for permit.

No and you need to sign the original and HPD keeps the copy.  So even if HPD allows it you need to sign and send them back the carbon copy.

You can get your Long Gun permit mailed, no need to sign anything.

I thought I had, sorry. When I told them I wasn't sure if I got everything I needed from the post office they asked how much I paid. When I told them about $3 they said it should be closer to $12 and you have to be there to sign for the envelope. I figured that part but it's easier to drive to the post office than HPD, for me anyways.
