Right on for this pastor to defend the church.  Unfortunately many will have to stand up and defend their churches when they come under attack.   May not be as violent as this but it will come when churches and pastors are attacked for preaching their beliefs and not bowing to the PC crowd.
First they will come to take the 501(c) tax status, then they will remove any televised Sunday sermons, then they will arrest the pastors for hate speech, then they will seize all church properties and then they will go after the members.   
They cannot understand that the church is not a building. it's where two or more are gathered and they can never stop this.
