Title: August 29th HDf range day
Post by: dirtylickins on August 08, 2015, 07:20:43 AM
Aloha fellow enthusiasts
This month's course of fire is carbine.
The day starts at 0730 with setup so be prompt as we go hot at 0800.
0800 - 1000 is open or free shoot. This is open to all and anyone who would like to shoot at their own pace. So anyone interested is encouraged to come and utilize this opportunity.

1000 - we will sweep and reset for carbine course of fire.
Equipment needed carbine, sling (just in case), 3 magazine, belt and pouches  to hold magazine, ammo (250) depends if you can hit target and need more to hit. Lol
Day ends at 4pm. Please let us know if you cannot stay till the end as we team up and this offsets the balance.

Do not rsvp here. Sign up here

After all those free shoot questions last month, I couldn't make it.

Good news, everything is clear for this month and I will be able to make the full day. Just sent the email for two, both of us are non-members. Looking forward to this.

Also cal of carbine mater? Just finishing up an AR build that I plan on running but if I can get my hands on some cheap ammo I might run the Scar. Curious how my hacksaw/dremel work feels.....

spots in carbine/rifle class are available if you have all the necessary gear
email hdfrangeday@thehdf.org to rsvp
open shoot, no rsvp necessary

if it's anywhere near as bad as this weekend, it's going to be another brutally hot and humid range day
take all necessary precautions

Thanks for the great event. Glad I could make it and bring a few coworkers along. We all had a good time and did some learning as well. Me, I need to work those damned weak side drills some more before the next class. I also know next time to bring a hat and wear socks and underwear. Oh, and limit the alcohol consumption the day prior.

See you guys next month. :shaka:

Mahalos to hdf staff for coming up with new challenges every month. Attending these range days really exposes strengths and weaknesses & challenges you to step out of your comfort zone. Oh and did I mention the math problems? See u next month.

Oh and did I mention the math problems?

Those were not math problems. Those were tools of torture. I'm going to have to remember that craziness next time I work detainee ops. Making them work those problems is worse than anything else I could imagine having them do. And I've got a twisted imagination...

the math problems are all mantisclaw's fault

the thing that stood out the most was the one student that was outshooting pretty much everyone else with iron sights...

Oh, and big mahalo to Bob for letting Miki shoot his .50 Beowulf! Now she wants one, but I told her a lever gun in 45-70 would have to come first...
