I notice reporter's new buzzword is "unarmed".
But when will reporters figure out that unarmed does not equal undangerous.
He also used a 4000 lb projectile to break the window.
Lions, tigers, crocs, gators, sharks are all unarmed, yet they still kill people.

You don't really know they are unarmed until you frisk them. Unless he's naked, there are plenty of pockets, shoes, and waistbands in which a weapon can be concealed.
Having said that, people refusing to submit to an officer presenting deadly force is insane to me. If someone is not afraid of a loaded gun pointed at them, they are demonstrating how unpredictable and dangerous they are.
The part that gets me is "he didn't deserve to die for that" comments. In a different case, the lady who was letting a fugitive stay with in her house said, "He didn't do nothing wrong. All he did was shoot a Cop."
I do think we are seeing a lot more Cops going straight to presentation and use of their sidearms. Part of it I think is the lack of size, strength and training to win a physical altercation with a younger, stronger, faster and maybe more experienced fighter. In this case, I think they had enough Cops to handle one guy, especially since the trainee's supervisor had a Tazer ready.
It'll be interesting to see how the investigation goes.
