The armed guard who protected Geraldo Rivera as he covered the Baltimore riots has been under arrest
since May 1 due to the fact that he did not have a license to carry a gun in Maryland.
According to the The Baltimore Sun’s Kevin Rector, the guard “has been in jail since May 1 for carrying guns
around Baltimore protest w/o an MD carry permit.”
Scott was arrested. He is being held on $350,000 bond and is facing “two gun charges.”

I don't think this is a Geraldo screw-up. I think it was the security employee's responsibility to ensure he was permitted to carry in the states he need to travel.
It does, however, underscore the fact that Geraldo was being protected by good guys with guns in a situation where he could have easily been risking violence erupting.
It also highlights that, if anything is stupid, it's the inconsistency in state's laws for owning and carrying firearms. Legal in one state, felon in the next!!
